Bosnian tiles

On a recent visit to Nashville I was fortunate enough to meet and see several members of the Bosnian community. Many Bosnians came to America as a result of war in the former Yugoslavia, especially in Bosnia-Hercegovina.

These new Americans and new Tennesseans definitely add to the interesting cultural mosaic that Nashville has become and add to its rich beauty. Great people in a great state!

Good morning.

Verbal Cartoon

Three days after arriving in Los Angeles Sara and the former First Dude are at a party being held by an aquaintances of Rush Limbaugh. Rush is showning her around to potential donors for her run at the 2012 presidental race. To her and Limbauh's surpires, Bill Clinton is at the same party.

Rush is able to keep her away from Bill for sometime, until the party's host distract Rush and lures him away. In a flash Bill is in front of her and talking to her. She puts on a brave face, but her insincere smile is a dead give away of her hate for him.

She starts to walk away from him, but he follows and keeps on talking. Before she knows it they have walked into an empty room and the door locks behind them. Her discomfort rises. Her heart beats faster. She is about to scream, when the conversation turns to his cigar collection. He shows her his prize cigar and a smiles come to her face.

Meanwhile at the same party and disguised as a Rush Limbaugh admirer an agent for Kim Jong II reports back to is master.

I don't know d7. It just goes to show that Nashville is a very interesting place to be.

Cpt. "N": You'd better be careful talking or "listening" to your cat or dog. That's how "The Son of Sam", Berkowitz started his killing spree.

Are we supposed to argue about Bosnians today?

By: Funditto on 8/18/09 at 5:44

Guess letter-writer missed the part where Crafton and his crazy fans wanted to enforce English Only.

By: house_of_pain on 8/18/09 at 5:59

That's a typical Bosnian response, Funditto. ;)

By: Captain Nemo on 8/18/09 at 6:24

Is this a Crafton joke?

By: sidneyames on 8/18/09 at 6:29

Captain you said "I don't know d7. It just goes to show that Nashville is a very interesting place to be." and I respond with this: I think Nashville is an "interesting cultural mosaic that Nashville has become and add to its rich beauty" solely due to D-7's presence here. He makes my days and nights so colorful. He is the main subject at our family discussions. I love his opinions and the sheer joy of responding to his rhetoric is what motivates me out my otherwise dull and listless life. I have met Egyptians, Isralies, Vietnamese, Chinease, Japanese, Africans, French and many other cultures. We have a melting pot in our country and that is awesome. Hopefully they are here because they love America as much as the rest of us. That makes it truly beautiful.

By: slacker on 8/18/09 at 6:31

I hope Mr. Beck, got to meet some of our Yankee's, they also add to our colorful cultural mosaic, and rich beauty.

By: Captain Nemo on 8/18/09 at 6:38

I married a Yankee. She did add to my life so very much. I'm a better person for it.

By: house_of_pain on 8/18/09 at 6:39

Nemo, how did you handle the language barrier?

By: Funditto on 8/18/09 at 6:42

Yankee's are cool. It's the Midwesterners that don't speak correctly. Big diff.

By: Captain Nemo on 8/18/09 at 6:45

I could understand what she was saying. I did have to translate to her from time to time.

When she frist moved her, she live in Goodlettsville, but did not know how to get to Gullesttvol. lol

SidVicious: Was your post the result of being in a "Diprovan phase", or just your run of the mill, "Purple Haze"? You hurled insults at me left and right just 5 days ago.
Now, I'm invited over for Sunday brunch? Can't make it. "Hee-Haw" is on at 7:00pm and I never miss an episode of the "Culhanes".

In a horror movie you watch as some unsuspecting sarifical character walks into a dark room and there is creepy music playing. Then while you are in between bites of popcorn, you scream out, "Don't go." But it is too late and something comes up from behind and the blood flows.

This is for dargent. " DON'T GO."

Gibbs is a useful fool.

"I challenge you guys all to go back and see what we've said about this over the course of many, many, many, many months, and you'll find a boring consistency to our rhetoric," White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters.

rhetoric [ret-a-rik, rit-tor-ik-kl]
Noun
1. the art of using speech or writing to persuade or influence
2. artificial or exaggerated language:

Of course Obama says nothing definite, he only expresses hopes and beliefs.

There is something so repulsive about whinny cheese.

By: chiefpayne568 on 8/18/09 at 8:18

Gdia,

"Except Chief and Dragon, they only get cheese and whine."

I like cheese...but you can keep your whine thanks.

By: Captain Nemo on 8/18/09 at 8:26

Maybe it is the stench that comes from losing?

Maybe it is not having any direction except for the perpetual turning to the right?

No matter what, whiny cheese is useless.

By: gdiafante on 8/18/09 at 8:26

My whine?? LOLOLOLOL

Blanket, time for a word...or ten

By: Dragon on 8/18/09 at 8:29

Chief, what did you think about Chrysler's, oops, Fiat's decision to build the 500 in Mexico instead of the US? The Union is in a quandry, since they are majority owners and must consider PROFIT.

Can we now say that Chryser is no longer one of the "big 3" American car manufacturers?

Auto Dealers Paid for Just 2 Percent of 'Clunkers' Claims, Congressman Says

Rep. Joe Sestak says only 2 percent of claims have been paid and that four of every five applications have been "rejected for minor oversight."

By: MamaG on 8/18/09 at 8:37

I'll start:

Whine: verb
1. to utter a peevish, high-pitched, somewhat nasal sound, as in complaint, distress, or fear.
2. to complain or beg in a childishly undignified way.

By: gdiafante on 8/18/09 at 8:38

Thanks mama...perfect.

By: Dragon on 8/18/09 at 8:46

Chief, the governments will hire 1,100 workers to take care of the backlog. Note that car dealers are requiring buyers to sign a waiver, saying that they will have to pay the "rebate" if the government doesn't. You mean the government might not pay its debt?

By: chiefpayne568 on 8/18/09 at 8:46

Dragon,

Nah, considering the fact that most car manufacturers in the US have some work done overseas, I wouldn't stop calling them one of the big 3. I would, however, consider this an insult to the current Administration as they put money into Chrysler to generate US jobs. One other question

Just like it should be rather irritating to the Administration that the Cash for Clunkers program seems to be benefitting Japanese cars more than American cars. Granted, it still generates SOME jobs here in the US...but ultimately, it's benefitting the large Japanese car companies the most.

By: Captain Nemo on 8/18/09 at 8:47

Cheese: n. Slange

1. Usually used sarcastical in a phrase big cheese.

By: chiefpayne568 on 8/18/09 at 8:48

Dragon,

Wonder how many takers the car dealers will have if the government doesn't pay those rebates? Sort of sounds like another mismanaged program to me.

By: gdiafante on 8/18/09 at 8:50

This is getting hilarious...and I thought it would be just another boring day...

By: chiefpayne568 on 8/18/09 at 8:50

Dragon,

And look at who is saying the Cash for Clunkers program is screwed up...Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa). Kind of hard to say it's Republicans bad-mouthing the program, isn't it.

By: Dragon on 8/18/09 at 8:50

Yes, the foreign cars are the top sellers. The American cars are the top clunkers. Maybe GM selling cars on e-bay is just the ticket, Buy their cars sight-unseen.
