Heaven help us
Free speech and hate speak are two entirely different things. Free speech is guaranteed by The Constitution but hate speak and inciting violence is not.
The atmosphere that is created by the hate mongering of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck — two of the worst among a bevy of fringe right hate mongers — only serves to create and atmosphere that is extremely dangerous for our president and his cabinet members that refuse to bow to their vitriol.
These right wingers know that there are more unbalanced right wing nuts out there than them and will listen to their bitter rhetoric and act on it. The Republican Party has lost its way and refuses to refute these crackpots.
I think that the networks are complicit in aiding and abetting these hate mongers and should be held accountable along with them if any situations of violence arise as a result of their hate speak. Right wing hate mongering has been responsible for several assassinations and attempted assassinations.
Remember if you falsely yell ‘Fire!’ in a crowded theater, it is not covered by the Constitution. So I really don't think the kind of hatred that Limbaugh and company spew is either.
If the true conservatives don't get tough and try to take their party back heaven help us all.

Could be, Funditto. Xenophobia being what it is in Nashville. I'm surprised then, if you are right, that they let me post here....of course, they could throw me out again. I have my blog as a back-up and I post all over the globe. I like this forum, but it is not my only platform.

Look, they were kids with $3000 trying to take down a company with BILLIONS in assets. They did the best they could. Granted, Fox showed it raw...but the story wasn't going to keep because rumors of it were already coming out...they had to show it or drop it.
As for taking them down, they got them whether the news media want to admit it or not. ONE film could have been tampered with or a fluke...but FOUR? I don't think so.
And what kills me is, no one is even talking about following up on this in stories and digging deeper into this corrupt pile. They're just taking the word of the person in charge of ACORN, for crying out loud!
But anyway, I'm glad we can agree on this one.

Obama said no undocumented aliens would be covered. I took him at his word. You and Wilson should do the same UNTIL he signed into law a bill which does cover them.

Let's consider the source, James O'Keefe . He's been known as a right wing activist for awhile now, in spite of his young age. He comes out of The Leadership Institute school of thought; the very same institute that produced the likes of Mitch McConnell, Karl Rove, Ralph Reed, Grover Norquist, and the ever popular Joe Wilson. To say that he's someone with a clear political agenda and an axe to grind would be, I think, an understatement.

One other thing, have any of you seen these two? Talk about about lily white. If you look up WASP in the dictionary of acronyms, it shows a picture of these two. On top of that, the outfits that these guys wore when they went into these Acorn offices were right out of Starsky and Hutch... remember Huggy Bear? Well, that's what O'Keefe looked like....

One of the Acorn workers stated (and I'm paraphrasing here) that she went along with "Pimp and Ho" because she thought it was some kind of stunt. Seriously folks, look at that picture again.... Halloween, right? I may not be the worldliest person in the world and I may not know what a "Pimp and Ho" look like, but I know what they don't look like... and that's O,Keefe and Giles in costume.

Now wait a minute. Wilson apologized to Obama for calling interrupting his speech...basically for sayin what he thought in the wrong time and place. Wilson is allowed to believe that Obama lied, if he wants to.

Wilson didn't believe him and said so. I believe we can't believe what anyone says about what's going to be in the bill until we SEE it.
But then, advocating amnesty to prevent illegal aliens from being covered as it appears Obama's doing, isn't the way IMO either.

This sounds like more Rovian dirty tricks, sadly, Obama has thrown ACORN under the bus. Let's see how many folks are now stuffed under the bus - Rev, Wright, Van Jones, Jimmy Carter, Blagoyevich and now the entire ACORN organization. No, the President already is getting advice from a string of guys, and calling them Czars, about which we have very little knowledge.

I have never said that. The simple way to avoid adding to the deficit is to increase income. If you have too many bills do you get a second job or add to your discovercard debt.
I think health care for all is a compassionate act that increases the common good of the people of this country and is worth the cost. Of course it should be run as efficiently as possible, certainly more efficient than private insurance is run.
Chief: I've said it before...nothing an American President can do is more despicable, vile, immoral, illegal, unethical,...than starting an invasion and "war" against a sovereign country. Like GW Bush did with Iraq. You may quote Eisenhower did it to Vietnam. Then JFK, LBJ, Nixon. Maybe so. That was 1959 onward. But, Bush & Co. KNEW what they were doing (at least Cheney did). It does not get any worse than that. N. Korea's, Iran's missiles ( 1 or 2 or 3 ) are "chump change" compared to what Bush & Co. did.

The problem with calling this a dirty trick is, they were simply allowed to say or do whatever. The ACORN people could have simply told them they couldn't help them and shown them the door...but they didn't do it. Sounds more like what 60 Minutes would do to me.
Deliberate misrepresentation, with the intent to defame, villify and destroy is a "dirty trick" in my book Chief. Your rule book does not consider such dirty work to be at all unfair, because the right-wing believes that the ends justify the means - all theocrats subscribe to that erroneous theory.
In this case, the ACORN folks were the "idiots", while the dirty-tricksters were the @ssholes. The left wing is filled with "idiots" like that, the right wing is filled with A-holes like that. Take your pick.

You missed the most basic and simplist way to avoid adding to the deficit...STOP SPENDING more than you pay in bills! BTW, how do you think the government could increase it's income. Raising taxes simply causes those who have money to hide it or find creative ways to keep Uncle Sam from getting it.
