Heaven help us
Free speech and hate speak are two entirely different things. Free speech is guaranteed by The Constitution but hate speak and inciting violence is not.
The atmosphere that is created by the hate mongering of Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck — two of the worst among a bevy of fringe right hate mongers — only serves to create and atmosphere that is extremely dangerous for our president and his cabinet members that refuse to bow to their vitriol.
These right wingers know that there are more unbalanced right wing nuts out there than them and will listen to their bitter rhetoric and act on it. The Republican Party has lost its way and refuses to refute these crackpots.
I think that the networks are complicit in aiding and abetting these hate mongers and should be held accountable along with them if any situations of violence arise as a result of their hate speak. Right wing hate mongering has been responsible for several assassinations and attempted assassinations.
Remember if you falsely yell ‘Fire!’ in a crowded theater, it is not covered by the Constitution. So I really don't think the kind of hatred that Limbaugh and company spew is either.
If the true conservatives don't get tough and try to take their party back heaven help us all.

go on line and hear Obama say this: President Obama said this week that his health care plan won't cover illegal immigrants, but argued that's all the more reason to legalize them and ensure they eventually do get coverage
BUT he also said in the same speech we need to legalize 12 MILLION undocumented workers. That's the new term for illegal now.
So if he legalizes them, he won't have to pay the states to keep them locked up

then I'm going to get a court order and sue your a$$es for slander. Don't ever, ever, ever again speak of my deceased wonderful, hard working, awesome Mother in those terms again. You both are Jackasses! Don't ever speak ill of my Mother or my marriage again. And I do't smoke. And I could not have children due to a medical condition. So Jackasses, get off my case or you'll get to meet me face to face in a court room with a judge. I don't mind the banter, but the slander is going too far. Don't ever refer to my Mother again!

Thanks. My mother is precious to our family. Her name is Jessie. She worked in a fricking cotton mill as a weaver; nasty, dirty and extremely hard work to keep 15 to 18 looms running - on the midnight shift. She never drank or partied. She devoted her life to her kids until my sis was 18; then she left the mill, married a prince charming and worked in a decent day job. She was strong, level headed and taught us to be strong and stand up for what we believe. My friends from High School still remember her and she's voted one of the best mom's ever. So when someone makes ugly remarks about her, I get upset.
Sunday mornin', heading off to church (UU). I just wanted to check in and say that Sid's Mom sounds like a great human being. Picking on family members was not cool and I should have refrained. The theme of the LTE was apologies, and I'd like to apolgize to Sid and Jesse. "See" you all Monday morning......if the NCP is still here.
