Assault on the senses
I'm not even close to forgetting what Kanye West did on Sept. 13 to Taylor Swift at the MTV Video Music Awards show in New York City. He did it for all the world to see. He did it because he wanted to do it. Kanye being Kanye. Ugh.
What he did was assault Swift. That's right. That's what it was. An interruption of her moment? An emotional outburst? No, it was an assault.
I agree with country star John Rich who recently said, "Kanye West is lucky there weren't some country boys in the audience or there would have been a serious problem." I certainly challenge West to attend the next Country Music Awards show in Nashville and do his thing here.
Where did he get the right to get out of his seat last Sunday night to storm the stage and take the microphone out of Swift's hand during her acceptance speech? Who is he to assault her in this way? And who is he to tell the world Beyonce deserved to win Best Female Video of the Year? Taylor's "You Belong With Me" is also the pride and joy of our very own Hendersonville High cheer team. What gave him the right to assault them in this way?
Shame on Kanye West. It's too bad our popular culture tries to water down his past and present bad behavior. We're way past desensitized.
Swift doesn't need the attention from a Hennessey poster boy in order to advance her career. Um, she's taking the country by storm just fine already. She's fearless. Kanye West is perhaps frightened by his own shadow. She is the one who lives in the real world, writes and sings beautiful music, connects with fans of every age group. This can hardly be said of Kanye West or his apologists who try and justify his chosen actions by saying it was an emotional outburst or a mere interruption of a moment.
No, it was an assault.

Who cares and what do you expect when you watch crap like that?
Let them handle it or not handle it.
The cowardly lion has spoken. Way to go id .
Like what would "little man, big mouth" John Rich have done, had he been there?
I take it the LTE thinks it was an "assault"? Swift is 19. She'll get over it. West has been spanked pretty good by the media. Jay Leno asked him what his "mommy" would think of his behavior. He's been embarrassed. But, an assault? Not exactly. Assaults are like what that other jacka@@, Brown, did to his girlfriend' face. Swiping a mic away isn't even close.
What does the Henderson High cheer team have to do with it?
Zizza takes music videos way too seriously.
d'pain: He got a "contact buzz" from all that talk yesterday about the Dalls Cowboy Cheerleaders.
Didn't we discuss this ill-mannered (c)rapper enough last week?
When will the rain stop?
Will we have a bad winter? How much snow will we get? How many times will Krogers be cleaned out of milk and bread because of a flurry or three?
What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Apparently, Massachusetts may pass a law allowing the police to forcefully vaccinate
people against the swine flu. I'm almost certain chief will provide a link to that story today.
But I'll stay on topic for now...Kanye West is still a chuckle head.
What do you mean...an African or a European swallow?
I just want to know where Kosh got that coconut...

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberry.
K-3: The rain will stop on Sunday. Be thankful we're not in Atlanta. Don't worry about Kroger. Come up to my neck of the woods...Harding Pike and White Bridge Rd. There's a Harris Teeter, Publix, and a Kroger. A Bermuda Triangle. There's enough food at those three stores to feed all of India and half of China.
Good morning.
Funny that Zizza did not write about Beyonce given up the spotlight to Taylor Swift. Letting her have her moment after West stoled that it.
It appears that pizzaman and John Rice wants to make a mountain out of a ant hill.
Atlanta. Yeah, which 2 years ago was dry as a bone in a drastic drought.
dar
Same here, one corner has Hills, Kroger and WalMart Market, and down the block is an Aldi and then a SavALot. But no Pubic or FoodLion which is fine since they are overpriced.
Well the good thing is that the govorner of Georgia wont be try to steal parts of Tennessee water for a while.
K-3: I've been here two years and really don't where I am. The "Triangle of Death" I described is in Green Hills. Upscale neighborhood...Obama posts on lawns....and only three home invasions a week. Oh, and two murders.
The next Indiana Jones movie, will be using Kanye West's head, as a treasure map to find The Notorious B.I.G., hidden treasure.
Harrison Ford has already signed.
Soooo, when will the media report on progress on Phil's party bunker? How many millions is it costing us? is it finished?
What does it look like? After all, none of "we the people" will ever get to see it in person unless we have deep pockets full of campaign "donations."
The first rule of the party bunker is:
no one talks about the party bunker.
I was driveing throught Belle Mead the other day and noticed a protest sign in a yard. It seem that they too want more sidewalks.
I met a couple a few years back that had moved here fron Indianapolis. They had notice that Nashville lacked sidewalks and said that it dimished the quality of life in the neighborhoods.
I agree
I'd rather not have a sidewalk cutting through my property.
Good morning, Nashville!
Hey Tony Zizza, if I was in Nashville, I'd give you a quarter, so you could call somebody who gives a sh*t.
Now, let's discuss some real world issues.
Pizza has also forgotten Faith Hill's rude reaction when Carrie Underwood won at the CMA's. He's a racist.
How's that coffee working out for you this morning, Loner?
BM folks do not want sidewalks because then may walk near their homes and that would be an intrusion. They prefer people admire them from their cars.
Nemo, sidewalks facilitate tresspassing across your property. In a heavily armed urban setting, walking across somebody's yard could be fatal; if the pit bull doesn't get you, the Baretta will. Most folks ride in Nashville, I noticed. The N'ville bus system is great, BTW.
Sipping a latte right now, House. I'm about to take my morning meds...stand by.
My main issue with sidewalks is that they attract irresponsible dog owners.
Even when sidewalks are available, people still walk/jog in the street.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry house sidewalks are in public domain.
imma let you finish, but Kanye is the biggest jerk of all time, of all time!
They also cut through yards, Nemo.
When I lived on Murphy Rd., the sidewalk darn near cut the yard in half.
Hey pain, I'll protest with you against sidewalks, until we run out of beer, then I'll make up some flimsy excuse to leave. I usually use: ''gotta pickup my cousin at the train station''.
My pet peeve is joggers in the roadway wearing earphones...I approach them with extreme caution...high on adrenalin and tunes, they are in a world of their own and are known to zig-zag themselves onto the hoods and bumpers of automobiles.... or under the bus. Jogging in the streets, wearing earphones or yakkin' on a cell phone should be illegal, IMO. But hey, it thins the herd, right?
In my early years I lived in the city and sidewalks was a way to get to your neighbors down the street without being in the street or crossing someone yard.
When my family moved from the city to the burbs, there were no sidewalks. I had to walk on the street to get to school. Is was dangerious then and even more so today.
Loner, very true. Bicyclists are also a hazard, nothing should be allowed on public streets, that can't travel the speed limit.
Nashville driver are a hazard.
Nemo, did you have to walk uphill, both ways?
Loner
Just this morning I saw an idiot jogging along on the shoulder of the road even though this part of town has nice wide sidewalks. More than once he veered almost into the vehicle lane.
Yeah, cull the herd.
Maybe it's just me, but I walk a LOT and I can amuse myself just fine by admiring the scenery. listening to the birds, insects etc. I don't need to listen to something which is probably only marginally "music" to keep myself entertained and distracted.

Nemo, did you have to walk uphill, both ways?
And in the snow up to my neck.
Inre: Sidewalks... no matter where you live, joggers seem to hold disdain for them. Even in upscale neighborhoods, you'll see joggers in the streets. What a waste of tax payer funds.
I agree, Slacker. I especially hate it when those joggers or bicyclists decide to run against the flow of traffic in the lane they are in, drivers don't have as much time to react to their unexpected presence as when approaching them from behind...it's the closing speed calculation. Again these pedalling knuckleheads are often wearing headphones or are talking on the cell.
The DWI crackdown has put the drunks on bicycles...smoking a cigarette, one hand on the handlebars, the other clutching a 12-pack....I see this sort of thing all too often.
nemo, you did have shoes as a child, correct?
Loner: FYI....pay phones are now .50c a call. But, I'll chip in the other quarter.
slacker;
I did not have a child, but the mule got to ride in a heated trailer.
We got drunks on lawnmowers down here.
They don't cover that s**t in the driver's manual.
So, today we're going to pile on "joggers"? Yeah. Those son-of-b*tchs who are exercising, loosing weight, keeping health care costs down. Let's just shoot 'em and drape their skinny bodies across our car hoods.
nemo, mules sometimes make exorbitant demands.
I live in the country now. No sidewalke here, but I have to drive two miles to the nearest store.
d'pain: Forget the drunks on lawn mowers. Wasn't Bill Murry pulled over for a DUI on the golf course? Hey, how 'bout that Mormar Gaddafi! Pitches a tent on Donald Trump's lawn, complete with satellite TV, electricity, port-a-johns, girls, and Trump says "he's looking into it". Unbelievable.
