Swift rise to the top

There's no doubt that Taylor Swift is sitting on top of the world. Actually, it's like she is standing — oh, so tall — on top of the world. And she has done it all — the right way.

At the age of 19, Swift has shown us a much better way. Stay true to your creative voice, be honest, remain optimistic, be kind and say thank you.

Swift captured our attention and love long before Kanye West decided once again to seek the wrong attention. She is indeed standing on top of the world, and will do so for years to come.

Tony Zizza, 37076

Good morning.

I like Taylor Swift sound and I hope she continues her success in life.

I think that it will take more than this letter for Tony to get in Taylor Swift pants. She is out of your class Tony.

There is no rest for the wicked.

Money does got grow on trees.

chief is just creepy.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 3:33

Little chief and running skank.

By: dooley on 11/4/09 at 4:17

Before her coronation and elevation to Sainthood, all of 19, let's see how her social/ singing life developes. Realistically, let's check back at 25 years of age and she where she's at. Brittany Spears was a cherubic Moustekeer at 7, had a meha hit at 15, and look how her life went.

By: house_of_pain on 11/4/09 at 6:40

Another letter about Swift from the Ziz-wheel. Allllllrightythen.
Tony, send her one of those "check yes or no" love letters.

By: dargent7 on 11/4/09 at 6:42

Oh, and by the way, "House", Phil Spector called from prison. He wants to produce your "Skank" LP with that wall of sound of his.

By: Funditto on 11/4/09 at 6:49

She's OK but I don't get the hoopla - her songs all sound the same - and a lot like Kids Bop. I can't listen too many times in a row. My ears are sensitive.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 6:51

I had my coffee dargent.

I think there is one big difference between Swift and Spears. Swift has the talent to be a star and Spears should be back-up singer.

However you may have a point.

As for being rough on chief..if I was to do that I would not pay any attention to that maschistic-narcissist.

Nemo: Your mixing up your pirroetes with your allegrettos.
"Dooly" sent you back to bed, and to get more coffee, not me.

By: Kosh III on 11/4/09 at 7:07

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Isn't it time to change the subject?

By: dargent7 on 11/4/09 at 7:10

K-3: OK...The Republicans won governorships in VA and NJ. They are taking over!

Then what was I drinking? 8-(

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 7:18

The question should be, are they the Republicans or they the fringe wing nuts?

By: sidneyames on 11/4/09 at 7:20

Apparently Taylor has a better mother/daughter relationship than Spears did. I think time will tell in a very positive light about Taylor. I know another boy band that opened for her and they respect and like her very much; say she's talented and nice. It shows in her public appearances.

By: sidneyames on 11/4/09 at 7:20

Oh yeah, and in her lyrics.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 7:27

I never did find where the difinition of a nice person in the name of sidney.

I did fine that it is from Old Engish meaning wide meadow and from Old American meaning cow pasture. ;->

The Jonas Brothers? These are children. Wait until they hit their 20's to see what their "upbringing" has fostered.
I thought David Cassidy was the coolest when I was 16. Then look what happened.

By: Loner on 11/4/09 at 7:50

Another love -letter from Tony Zizza? This swooning sycophant sent in an LTE on the 23rd of September extolling the heavenly virtues of the angelic Ms. Swift.

I think Tony has a rich fantasy life. But he should keep it to himself, public drooling is so uncool, especially for a man his age.

By: Loner on 11/4/09 at 7:54

Ben Dover asked if I was in the NY 23rd District. I'm not. That district is way up North and East of here. Massena, Watertown and Saranac Lake are some of the cities in that frosty district.

The seat became vacant when President Obama picked Rep. McHugh, of the NY 23rd, to be Sec. of the Army.

The 23rd District is very heavily Republican, but the Democratic candidate squeaked out a narrow victory when the "liberal" GOP candidate was forced out by heavy hitters like Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck, who enthusiastically supported the Conservative Party's pick.

The GOP drop-out threw her support behind the Democrat, at the last minute. Even VP Biden made a trip up there.

Although the far-right failed, they almost won with a dark-horse third-party choice, this will only embolden the theocrats. As I have said before, Palin's ego knows no bounds, she might run in 2012, as a third party spoiler.

A Palin-Limbaugh ticket would get about 30% of the popular vote, according to my crystal balls. The remaining 70% would be split by the Dems and the GOP. The winner of such a three-way race would have little legitimacy, especially if the electoral vote did not reflect the popular vote. Rush and Sarahcuda could paralyze the political process with their mischief-making.

You know I am so very curious about all you haters out there. I mean people complain about Brityney and the rest of the list that would take too long to mention. You complain about why so many people worship them and soforth being that they are sluts drunks whatever, and a person who is nice clean decent comes along,, and you folks complain about her. I wonder if you really know anything about her. possibly you are just Trolls pitifully seeking attention.

of the many things I could say....I will say this, If you like Taylor Swift, fine listen to her music and enjoy it. as much as you can.

If you Don't like her thats fine too, don't listen to her.
although.............
If you do not like Taylor Swift, then why are you wasting your oh so valuable time (I'm sure) posting thinking or talking about her?? It should not matter what she does or sings you should not have anything to say. There are Tv shows on for years that suck! badly, ...they are on for the folks that like them and watch them. YOU DONT HAVE TO!!

Obviously you are just blowing hot air and in love with your own voices.J.P.L.

Capt. Nemo, thank goodness I don't use you or this CP club to measure my self esteem. Sidney is derived from the name St. Sidney. You didn't read the entire definition.

As usual, selective reasoning. Oh well, it's just a name. You'd LYAO if you knew my real name!

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 8:05

Good morning Loner.

So it was not a clean sweep for the far right.

If they keep up there attack on moderate Republicans I wonder if they will drive them toward the Democrates?

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 8:13

sid;

I google names and meaning of sidney in found wide meadow.

But you can think what you want.

By: Loner on 11/4/09 at 8:16

No clean sweep, but Hoffman, backed by Palin and several right-wing demagogues, did better than anyone was predicting, just a few weeks ago. If they had more time, the Hoffman theocrats might have succeeded.

If faith-based politics can come this close to victory in a secular, blue state like New York, the theocrats will be emboldened, not disheartened by these results. I expect that Rush's program today will include discussing the election results and Rush will, of course, put a huge rightward spin on it.

NYC is over 400 miles from here, but the stink of Bloomberg's campaign for a third term was detectable here, on the Erie Canal. Bloomy blew 90 million of his own bucks, to win a third term in an office that pays him one dollar per year. What motivates this man? What is his mission?

William Thompson, the Democratic Challenger, came closer to upsetting Bloomberg's big apple cart than anyone had predicted.

His honor, the Mayor, won by an unexpectedly slim margin...white Catholics (non-Hispanic), Jews and upscale voters making over 200K went for Bloomberg, everybody else had had enough of the arrogant billionaire and his nanny-style governance.

I was put off by Bloomberg's huge ad buys in the Jerusalem Post, Haaretz and Ynet - three top Israeli news outlets. In those Israeli ads, Bloomy boasted of having a team of over 1,000 NYC police officers stationed around the world, gathering intelligence for his Administration.

I guess Bloomy thinks of himself as Pro-consul, if not Emperor, of a city-state - Roman style. The guy has his own intelligence-gathering apparatus...that's a little frightening, isn't it?

Will Bloomy run for President of the Republic in 2012? He's no spring chicken, it's then or never. Stay tuned.

Slacker, Bend-O:
I posted this late last night, so, for the cinema challenged, "There's a new sherrif in town.... (and his name is Reggie Hammond, aka, Eddie Murphy)...is from "48 Hours".

Bend-O: You were puzzled by Gd's $300/$600 post...that's the checks the gov't sent out this past year and this year as "stimulus". You see, if you continue to hide your income in off shore Canary Island accounts, and don't pay income taxes, the US gov't won't send you any cash-ola.

By: house_of_pain on 11/4/09 at 8:43

Speaking of spring chickens, looks like we may have to deal with the TS Fan Club today.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 8:43

house are you still on line?

By: gdiafante on 11/4/09 at 8:44

Darg, they sent those check several times during Bush's terms. The first I remember being after he was "elected" in 2000.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 8:44

I see that you are

What do you get when you cross a crow and a bear?

By: house_of_pain on 11/4/09 at 8:45

Better than that, Nemo...I'm on a party line.

By: dargent7 on 11/4/09 at 8:46

Loner: Bloomberg spent $100. million. What's his motivation? Well, when you've got over a billion liquid, what does one do with one's self? (I'm always up against this question, myself).
You buy a governor's slot available to the highest bidder.
NY is the highest profile to compensate for being 5'3" and Jewish (and NOT Sid).

By: house_of_pain on 11/4/09 at 8:48

A crowbear?

By: slacker on 11/4/09 at 8:49

dargent, thanks for clearing that up. I think Lash La Rue also said that.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 8:50

A crowbar.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 8:51

I can hear the whip crack now.

By: BenDover on 11/4/09 at 8:52

I didn't qualify for your hand-out d'arge... I paid for it.

By: Loner on 11/4/09 at 8:52

Slacker, how about, "Skankless", "Skank Story" and "You Belong With Skank"?

By: slacker on 11/4/09 at 8:53

Whip me baby..whip me like a skank..baby

By: dargent7 on 11/4/09 at 8:54

Gdia: I remember now...I got my first one in '08. I was going to return it in protest, then took another hit off the pipe, and decided to cash it. Smart move.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 8:54

The answer in the the skank.

By: gdiafante on 11/4/09 at 8:54

Wasn't our handout Ben, it was your buddy Bush's. Uh oh...

By: house_of_pain on 11/4/09 at 8:56

I can't wait for the theatrical rendition of slacker's music:
"Skank on a Hot Tin Roof"

By: Captain Nemo on 11/4/09 at 8:56

BenDover and be skank.

By: dargent7 on 11/4/09 at 8:56

Bendie: It was GW Bush's hand out, first. Now, 10 "Hail Mary's".
