Like it, love it…

I really appreciate the coverage you guys give to the Predators. They are in the story image rotation on the home page very often.

Just wanted you to know that it is noticed and liked.

I want to see the story about them movng.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/18/09 at 5:16

Good morning

Poor old id, the Preds are keeping him from sleeping.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/18/09 at 5:36

What did I learn yesterday?

1- I learned that chief will go to any means to get attention.

2- I learned that cheif loves verbal abuse.

3- I learned that even when chief steals someone comeback, he somehow makes it lame.

4- I learned the most simple of things to understand manages to fly over his head.

5- I learned when losing an argument, he declares himself the winner.

6- I learned that trying to bring logic to this simple mind is futel.

By: dargent7 on 11/18/09 at 5:39

7- FOX News is THE place for news, "Fair & Balanced". Gotta hear from the same old recycled viepoints from Dick Morris, Karl Rove, Michele Maulkin, Ann Coulter, Beckerhead, Dana Pirino. In 11 months NONE of them have said ONE positive statement about Obama.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/18/09 at 5:47

Breaking news.

President Obama meets his half brother Mark Ndesandjo in Beijing. This brought on a new round of argument from a screaming idgaf. "See this is proof that he is Chinese!"

By: slacker on 11/18/09 at 7:22

No Predators story is complete without some zany Zamboni hijinks.

By: house_of_pain on 11/18/09 at 7:27

Once gd gets here we'll get the scoop, slacker.
If he's not too hung over...or in jail.

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 7:39

I completely concur with this LTE, and think it is the finest the NCP has ever printed. By the way, the Preds only beat the best team in the NHL last night...

Id, you first.

By: govskeptic on 11/18/09 at 7:44

Who knew we had elected the first "President of the Pacific"? Go Preds, we are all very "Invested" in ye!

By: house_of_pain on 11/18/09 at 7:45

gd, did the rowdy bunch in the cheap seats have a chant for id?
You know the one...

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 8:15

No really Nemo,

Tell me what you really think about me. LOL

Frankly, I take all the criticism from you as an extremely high compliment, given who is issuing the criticism.

Thanks!

By: idgaf on 11/18/09 at 8:18

7 give it your best shot and say something "positive" about barry.

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 8:23

Idgaf,

Hey, he sent in the SEALs to take out those pirates! You have to give him THAT one for sure!

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 8:25

The LTE is about the Predators, stay on topic for God's sake...

By: sidneyames on 11/18/09 at 8:27

I learned that D7 almost broke his truce with me and still I'm being nice. What is the story on Gibson Guitar? Who knew wood from Madagascar was prohibited? I sure didn't.

By: sidneyames on 11/18/09 at 8:28

OK I'll say something nice about Barry. He looks good in Africian attire, Chinease attire and other countries' attire. All except American made dress suits and ties.

By: Funditto on 11/18/09 at 8:42

He looks fabulous in American clothes and Michelle has more style in her pinky than most women. And brains, too.

By: sidneyames on 11/18/09 at 8:49

Funditto, I would agree with you except Barry hates America and is always saying we're a great Muslim nation and apologizing for my country.

Michelle wears sleeveless everything. That has always been taboo in certain formal settings (in my world) regardless of how buff your arms are. I'll admit she's pretty nice looking and most of the time, composed. I'll give her that. But she's no Jackie Kennedy and he's no JFK.

His brains may be there, but he lacks a boat load of common sense and I think common sense beats out any PHD's in the country.

I'd love to see him be concise and made one statement that makes sense for everyone in America. He is for the rich and getting richer. Not the middle class. He wants us all poor and depending on the gov-ment. It shows in ever "move he makes and every breath he takes".

He is watching your bank account and your internet (but he thinks China needs more internet freedom while he's setting up an Internet Czar to monitor yours and mine).

By: sidneyames on 11/18/09 at 8:49

sidneyames

By: sidneyames on 11/18/09 at 8:51

oops, error in posting; I'll stay on target G. I'm sorry. Preds are awesome and I love to watch them. Anyone want a Grief signed hocky puck? Or a 49'ers team signed football?

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 8:53

I don't know, maybe an intelligent President is intimidating...I think some were used to being smarter than the President the last eight years...who knows...

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 8:54

Thank you Sid, the Predators are on a winning streak and look solid. We still need another top six forward, I hope Poile will actually pull the trigger this year, rather than staying idle like last year.

By: Funditto on 11/18/09 at 8:55

Jackie wore sleeveless and I guess you haven't been to the Swan Ball lately. Maybe back in your day sleeveless was taboo, but keep in mind, this is the 21st century.

By: sidneyames on 11/18/09 at 9:01

Yeah G, we get to go every now and then when my husband can stay awake. He goes to work at 6 and is tired by game time.

I really liked Bill Clinton. And I really liked George W. Bush, along with Kennedy and Ford. Not much of a Carter fan, but loved Eisenhower. He was a great general and commander in chief. Military experience says a lot for a man or woman in leadership roles. Even Boy Scouts are skilled leaders.

By: dargent7 on 11/18/09 at 9:02

idgaf: Say something good about Obama?
At 46 he became the 2nd youngest President of the USA. (maybe tied w/ JFK and Clinton). You want this job?
Guy's parents both died at an early age, and he's mixed race. Still rose to the US Presidency. Maybe you favor the 4 black kids at U T who threw away their scholarships by doing hold-ups and shoplifting between games?
Obama's showing restraint w/ Afghanistan which a 8th grader can tell you is a loser, and didn't bomb Iran and N. Korea (yet).
And as sure as I'm sitting here in my Detroit Red Wings uniform, McCain and "Nit-wit Palin" would of gone in all three countries by now.
How's that to wet your whistle?

By: Funditto on 11/18/09 at 9:08

The thought of McCain in office with Sarah Palin a heartbeat away makes my skin crawl. And people would prefer this over a young healthy Harvard professor because......

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 9:09

I liked Clinton too. He was fiscally sound. I didn't have a major problem with Bush Sr. either. Never liked Reagan or "W". Never fully subscribed to the deficit spending theory...although we're getting a good dose of that now, which I'm not thrilled about, but I think the alternative would have been far worse.

By: sidneyames on 11/18/09 at 9:16

Well, I'm not happy with a president who hand picks a General, then ignores him. Sounds like he doesn't know which way is up. He said "Afghanistan is a necessary war" and yet never said clearly "necessary for what".

And what war is really necessary? Did it matter that Sadam was killing many of his own countrymen and women? Hell yes it mattered and now he's dead.

But I digress. I don't have anymore sports knowledge to impart, so I'm off to a writing appointment.

By: slacker on 11/18/09 at 9:18

Hey Sidney, does the 49'ers football have Joe Montana's autograph?

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 9:19

Funditto,

"He looks fabulous in American clothes and Michelle has more style in her pinky than most women. And brains, too."

Sorry but I have to disagree with you about Michelle's style. Showing up in blue at a Veteran's Day memorial???

By: dooley on 11/18/09 at 9:20

I don't give a crap about hockey. They can take it back north for all I care . This is football country.

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 9:22

Gdia,

"Never fully subscribed to the deficit spending theory...although we're getting a good dose of that now, which I'm not thrilled about, but I think the alternative would have been far worse."

While I don't like the deficit spending either, I am not so naive as to think that it wouldn't help in this situation...IF the spending had been on something which would have helped us get out of the economic depression we are in. Unfortunately, I don't believe we spent the money wisely.

Now, we are, IMO, experiencing the alternative and from what I gather, Congress is considering another stimulus bill to fix the problem.

By: house_of_pain on 11/18/09 at 9:22

It would be nice to have more games during the day, on Saturdays.
If I want to go during the week, I have to take the next day off.

By: slacker on 11/18/09 at 9:25

dooley, perhaps you might like a new sport I'm creating called: ''NASCOCKY''?

By: slacker on 11/18/09 at 9:28

chief, I believe China is a bit nervous about our spending.

By: Funditto on 11/18/09 at 9:29

Why can't you go get a beer when the puck is in play? That's unAmerican.

By: Funditto on 11/18/09 at 9:31

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 9:19
Sorry but I have to disagree with you about Michelle's style. Showing up in blue at a Veteran's Day memorial???"

Why is that bad? Clue me in.

Chief, have you been watching Sarah Palin this week? Would you really have preferred that she be a heartbeat away from the Oval Office? For real?

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 9:31

Slacker,

Considering how much they have invested in us, I don't doubt that one bit.

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 9:34

Funditto,

First, it was a memorial to remember those who gave their lives to defend our country. Everyone (as far as I could see) who showed up wore black in respect for the occasion, except Michelle.

Funditto, compared to Joe Biden who IS a heartbeat away from the Oval Office? Absolutely!

By: Funditto on 11/18/09 at 9:37

I'm sure you'd find something wrong with her if she wore black, too. Why do you hate black people?

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 9:37

Chief, it's not a depression. It's the inevitable conclusion of very poor policy for years. It's not like China suddenly started buying our debt since January.

Our prosperity was nothing more than a bubble. It was built like a house of cards, and until we rebuild with a more solid foundation, nothing will change.

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 9:39

Are you seriously arguing about fashion??

Quick, someone get Heidi Klum...we have a couple of potential judges for Project Runway...

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 9:42

Gdia,

Oh I agree with you, our prosperity was a house of cards and it fell. BUT I don't see where we are rebuilding the foundation at all...just trying to make repairs on what's left of the foundation now. But you're right...the bubble was inevitably going to burst.

Oh and I disagree with you...I do think it's a depression...a minor one compared to what we've experienced before, but a depression nonetheless.

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 9:43

Funditto, you can go get a beer while the puck is in play, they just won't let you go back to your seat. Last year, at the Colorado game, I missed about 7 minutes of the game because there was no whistle...by the time they let me go back to my seat I needed another beer!!

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 9:43

Funditto,

Now why would you say that? If she wore black, it would be in keeping with the tone and the protocol of the event.

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/18/09 at 9:44

Funditto,

And BTW, the race card isn't working...try another tactic.

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 9:45

The numbers don't agree with you Chief and that surprises me, considering how long it took you to admit that the economy was even in trouble. I suppose it's either "fundamentally sound" or in a depression. No middle ground, huh?

You also predicted hyperinflation. Did you get your economics degree online? lol

By: sidneyames on 11/18/09 at 9:45

By: Funditto on 11/18/09 at 9:37
I'm sure you'd find something wrong with her if she wore black, too. Why do you hate black people?

It did not have to do with her race, you twit. Funditto was talking about her choice of mourning clothing. Black is and has always been the traditional dress color for mourning. People just know that almost inherently.

I didn't see her, but I figured she'd wear black for respect. I was wrong. How did that happen? I gave her too much credit.

In my case when my husband was killed at Wilberg, I wore his favorite color - RED! He loved to see me in red and hated me in black dresses. His sister wanted to wear all red, but his mother forbid her. Glad I didn't answer to old Irene; couldn't stand the meanie!

No, not Montana. Rice and Young, slacker.

By: slacker on 11/18/09 at 9:52

gdiafante, can you wear white to a hockey game after Labor day?

By: gdiafante on 11/18/09 at 9:54

Yes, especially if it's a "white-out"...however, aqua marine is a faux paus of the highest order and those wearing it will be shot and deboned on sight.
