Letters to the Editor

You reap what you sow

I was a Metro Parks worker and left because of how the Parks and Recreation department was handling things and the lack of leadership skill in Mr. Wilson and his staff. I can tell you there is so much more wrongdoing going on in Parks than what's [been] written. It will all come out sooner or later.

You can only fool for so long before it is found out that you lack the skill to lead. I am sorry for Mr. Wilson's current issues, but he should have learned years ago you reap what you sow!

Now the mayor needs to be the leader and restore Parks' reputation.

Kevin Kinney, Nashville

Whos going to restore the Mayors reputation?

By: Captain Nemo on 11/20/09 at 4:57

Good morning.

id talks about reputaions.

He made a Verbal Cartoon. ;-)

By: Captain Nemo on 11/20/09 at 5:12

What did I learn yesterday.

1- chief is a bed wetter.

2- chief has a hidden camera on me, watching my ever move.

3- If chief had any logic he does not know how to use it.

4- When I leave the site other take up the contempt of chief.

5- I can still push his buttons with ease.

6- gdia can control unruly chidren. lol

By: dargent7 on 11/20/09 at 5:36

Nemo: What is truly astounding about that person you mention, is the complete useless intent anyone would have debating him. Talking about the war(s), you can say Bush LIED, and then he says, "So did Clinton about sex", like a war spanning 7 years, killing 4,450, and costing a trillion, equals a hummer and trying to conceal it from your wife, who has to stay in your White House.
If that isn't absurd enough, you can take his pro-life/ anti-abortion stance and extend it to the nth power..."an 11 year old white girl raped by a retarded black man"...and he still says, "Must carry the "baby" full term....I'd provide counseling between the joyful, expectant parents". It's useless. Gandhi would of strangled him by now while Mother Teresa held him down.

Maybe Phil Williams should expose the seedy underbelly of Metro Parks.

By: house_of_pain on 11/20/09 at 6:49

d7, thanks for helping to set that crybaby straight, over at the other paper.

By: Kosh III on 11/20/09 at 6:57

"d7, thanks for helping to set that crybaby straight, over at the other paper."

Huh??

House: Which whiner? The lady who said gov't employees don't run the clock, are lazy, slackers, and probably are homosexuals?

"I don't like the uniforms..."
That one.

Whos going to restore the Mayors reputation?

Ditto what id said.

By: dargent7 on 11/20/09 at 7:23

Oh, but "ed176", who I personally believe is an alien, said the same thing.
And you're not supposed to know my other identity. You won't "out" me will you?

By: sidneyames on 11/20/09 at 7:27

Wow! I got home from yesterday and read all 6 pages of banter. It was amusing and I'm glad to have been working.

D7 brought me up a few times even though I was in my car not even thinking of him. Well, maybe I was for a moment.

Anyway, D7 keep on "bugging" me and talking about me. I love the attention. It makes me fee so SPE-CIAL!

Time to have Dunkin' coffe with cream and sugar; a bowl of home cooked oatmeal with walnutsand honey. Then I'll curl my hair and get dressed for work.

D7, did I leave anything out? Oh yeah, the Parks think. I don't know much about this debacle so I'll let ya'll opinunate for the day.

Bye now "D"

By: Funditto on 11/20/09 at 7:28

How do ya'll find the time to post on multiple boards? I can barely keep up with this thread on this one paper.

By: Funditto on 11/20/09 at 7:29

Who curls their hair these days?

By: house_of_pain on 11/20/09 at 7:31

Maybe so, d7, but you said it with more...panache.

By: dargent7 on 11/20/09 at 7:31

Fund-O: We have a team of writers. Did you actually think someone from Detroit could be as satirical, snappy, brilliant, accurate and in-depth as I, acting alone?

By: dargent7 on 11/20/09 at 7:33

House: Isn't panache that raw Italian sausage? Well, thanks for the compliment.
Usually I tell the LTE write to f**ck themselves, but I'm try to be a better person.

By: house_of_pain on 11/20/09 at 7:34

Yeah, I kinda took care of that today...I'm off my meds.

By: dargent7 on 11/20/09 at 7:36

Sid: Yeah, any ice on the windshield? What setting do you use in the car for defrost? What radio stations are programmed? Any enemy sniper fire from your house to the car? Did the Scientologists leave a mysterious package on your porch? How many more days until your birthday?

By: sidneyames on 11/20/09 at 7:39

D7, you are so precious! Good grief. Lordy mercy! You are one piece of work. Praise the Lord and pass the biscuits. Bless your pea picking little heart.

By: Funditto on 11/20/09 at 7:28
How do ya'll find the time to post on multiple boards? I can barely keep up with this thread on this one paper.

Quick thinking, fast typing and nuttin' else to do. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Plus, I love hunting for D7! ha, ha, ha, ha, ha.

By: house_of_pain on 11/20/09 at 7:42

C'mon, Mr. Kinney, tell us why you really got fired from the Parks Department.

By: dargent7 on 11/20/09 at 7:42

Sid: What age did you leave San Diego? And, what area? You seem like an El Cahon, Imperial Beach type of girl.

By: Loner on 11/20/09 at 7:43

Good morning, Nashville!

I was up North for a few days, on Lake George, in the Adirondacks. Did I miss much here?

As for the LTE, I googled the author's name and Bingo! This same mini-rant ran in the Nashville Scene, as a posted comment. Here's the URL:

http://www.nashvillescene.com/2009-11-05/news/metro-parks-chief-roy-wilson-faces-more-misgivings-than-a-budget-snafu/

It would appear that the letter writer is a disgruntled Parks employee. Disparaging Mr. Wilson is OK, within limits.

These unsubstantiated accusations of "wrongdoing" seem to be bordering on libel. Mr. Kinney should come forward with facts, if he has any.

Mr. Wilson may, in fact, be guilty of incompetence, but accusations of possible corruption (wrongdoing) should be accompanied with a modicum of evidence to support the allegation.

By: house_of_pain on 11/20/09 at 7:50

Loner, have you applied for the coaching position with the Bills?

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/20/09 at 8:01

Interesting. Reid made sure the abortion point was in his bill, even though it threatens to kill it.

If Reid is planning this then he couldn't do a better job. If Reid kills the bill in the Senate...and then calls for a vote on the House bill and it is killed in the Senate, then he can go back to Nevada and tell both sides that he did what they wanted...and then can start campaigning to save his seat in 2010.

A good political strategy, if that is what he is doing.

Not yet, House. I'm working on my resume right now. Like many others, I have called for sacking the coach; the guy was too nice, IMO. The Bills need a Head Coach who can instill fear, if not inspire confidence.

The franchise needs a name change...Buffalo Bill Cody was something of an A-hole......according to fans of the American Bison. The negative Kharma is real. You don't win the AFC Conference title four years in a row and then lose four consecutive Super Bowls unless there is a Kharmic imbalance.

The most famous/infamous Bill of all time? OJ Simpson....need I say more?

I suggest a new name: The Buffalo Wings. Pretty hot, right? Unless you are a vegetarian, for moral reasons....nah, that name won't due either, any suggestions from the Titans fans?

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/20/09 at 8:08

Baffled??? But I thought they had this all figured out...that's what Al Gore keeps telling us!

By: Dragon on 11/20/09 at 8:18

The 2,074-page Senate health care bill would take 34 hours to read cover to cover -- and that's just what Sen. Tom Coburn wants done on the Senate floor.
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/nov/19/health-bill-could-get-34-hour-reading-senate/?feat=home_top5_read

Go, Tom, Go. It takes 34 hours to read, much longer to study and understand. Reid is trying to cram it through just like Pelosi.

By: Loner on 11/20/09 at 8:20

I assume those numbers represent number of TV's tuned in to those programs, right, Chief? I wonder how many of those sets are in businesses....bars, restaurants, waiting rooms, lobbies etc. Those sets are almost always tuned in to FOX...the owner's choice, of course.

I do not doubt that more ideologues looking for affirmation tune in to FOX than anywhere else. FOX sells and delivers journalistic dope, to an audience that is addicted to the product. I remember the hippie anthem...."God damn the pusher man."....it applies here, IMO.

By: house_of_pain on 11/20/09 at 8:20

The Buffalo Nads.
Go Nads!

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/20/09 at 8:25

Loner,

Actually, I have not problem with them being set in bars, restaurants, etc. Think of how many MORE people get to watch Fox News because of that!

A GREAT public service! LOL

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/20/09 at 8:27

Sorry

/s/h/b no

By: Loner on 11/20/09 at 8:27

Thanks, House. The Buffalo Chips would be better than what they have now...a little penance for their sin might help. Sack cloth uniforms, their faces smeared with Bison feces, the mortification process might put the binders on that wheel of Kharma for the hapless Buffalo Bills.

The Buffalo Jills cheerleaders could don nun-like habits and waft incense into the stands....while chanting Plains Indians mantras.

And the fans, I suppose that they could fast instead of tailgating before games.

I'll include these ideas with my job application.

House, I played for the Nads, in the sixties. The moniker has been officially retired. Thank you for the thought.

I like the idea, however. The Buffalo Ballsacks?

By: chiefpayne568 on 11/20/09 at 8:32

Yeah, this appears to be the choice facing a LOT of Senators soon. Should be interesting to see what happens on the vote.

ONE SENATOR'S CHOICE: OBAMACARE OR REELECTION

http://www.vote.com/mmp_printerfriendly.php?id=1732

"The Zogby Poll shows Arkansans opposed to the Obama/Reid bill by 28-64, with 50 percent "strongly opposed" to the legislation. To swim in the face of such a current of public opinion is risky business for a U.S. senator.

Lincoln's most likely Republican opponent, state Sen. Gilbert Bennett, is hot on her heels in the poll, trailing by only 41-39. But asked who they would support if Lincoln votes for ObamaCare, Arkansas voters switch to Bennett, giving him a 49-36 victory. That Lincoln goes from two points ahead to 13 points behind over one Senate vote illustrates the potency of the opposition to healthcare changes."

By: Loner on 11/20/09 at 8:39

Hoffman recanted his concession...they are counting thousands of paper ballots that were snail-mailed in (absentees) and now a virus? The plot sickens.

The distinguished author, Sarah Palin, actually went up there and stumped for the Conservative, Hoffman. BTW, this Hoffman guy is wild-eyed....not just in his beliefs, but in reality...shifty bugged-out eyeballs give me the creeps...I can see why Palin loved this wierdo.....they're both theocratic nutjobs.

You gotta love Palin's style...she don't read no stinking books...she writes them.

By: MamaG on 11/20/09 at 8:59

I Jumped a little this morning and I enjoyed it more than I usually do. I like the upbeat stuff! I like the Honkytonk Jukebox, either on Wed or Thu after 8am. (normally) I also listen to Liberadio on Mon's sometimes.

Sid: You "hated" LaJolla? Are you insane? I guess that's rhetorical.

D7, I was born in San Diego and then raised in VA. Went to CA at 29. Don't care for California all the way from the mexican border to the tip of CA. Didn't like it when I was there from 29 to 34. Can't stand it. Don't wanna go back; wouldn't go there if I got a free vacation for one month in the Hotel Del Coronado. Why do I have to like CA?
I love Montana - Gardiner - West Yellowstone - Livingston - Bozeman. Love it, love it.

Hate CA! It's El Cajon (not Cahon).

Now, my face is on, my shoes are polished, my hair is lacquered down and I'm finally off to work. Gonna miss this jibberish but duty calls and the bank stopped giving me a free mortgage when they found out that I was capable of moving out of my recliner.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/20/09 at 9:04

Agreed dargent. I find it hard to believe that person I talked about to be in the military. I mean with it's child like attitued and childish post, I just can believe that the military is that hard up for help.

Then on the other hand it has not be called up, even after it has begged to be sent to be sent to the war.

By: Captain Nemo on 11/20/09 at 9:09

I have been to LaJolla many times and I don't recall seeing or even hearing about a RedNeck sectionof LaJolla.

Maybe sid was in LaJolly? If so then I don't blame her for not likeing it. :->
