President George W. Bush has threatened to veto a $124 billion war spending bill that would impose time limits for troop withdrawal from the Middle East all the way from Washington D.C. to our commanders in the field.
Bush should veto this shoddy piece of legislation, and we encourage him to do so.
The run up to the War in Iraq can be debated endlessly. The war strategy, the pretense for attacking another nation and the handling of the war itself are all things historians will mull and discuss for years to come.
The fact that the U.S. is at war now, though, cannot be debated.
