I agree that unions have become burdensome in some instances, but so are corporations. Are we going to ban them too? The fact is that the GOP is union busting because it's a significant chunk of the Democrat vote. End of story. And this is not an idea that has a mandate from the people. See Wisconsin. In fact, nationwide polling indicates that it's not a popular idea at all. And doing so will not create jobs or make education suddenly more efficient. This is a sideshow, as once again the politicians in charge sidestep what should be done in order to improve the economy and instead focus on idealogical nonsense in order to stir the base.

Howzit, Capt? Been missing your picture posts!

By: Captain Nemo on 3/10/11 at 9:58

You did not get the one today?

By: MamaG on 3/10/11 at 9:59

OH! I am so used to not looking, I forgot to look today! Silly me, I will do so right now!

By: revo-lou on 3/10/11 at 9:59

He has never been able to answer/counter anyones post, lets not expect too much from him.

By: MamaG on 3/10/11 at 10:01

Dang! That was some kind of awesomeness; it hurt my eyes a little bit to stare too long! What vivid colors though...reminded me of a chalk painting (or print, I guess).

By: MamaG on 3/10/11 at 10:03

No, a blacklight poster!

MamaG-

After reading your post I had to go back and take another look myself.

This is from the other day.

Nemo,

I resnt your 9:08 posting where you supposedly paraphrased me. Please reread my blog and notice where I said that I'm not in love with the Republican party either.

I'm of the opinion that the American political system is badly broken, and the political party system needs to be ended. Too much focus is placed on individual political party agendas and allegiances to the great detriment of the overall good for the American people. And this country was founded on conservative principles of democracy, not socialism. Rewarding the lazy people who lack motivation and iniative with the fruits of the labor of the hard working people is Socialism any way you cut it. Socialism begets laziness and lack of effort (If it's going to be given to me whether or not I earn it, why should I work?) I strongly believe that people should be directly rewarded in proportion to the amount of effort they put forth.

And liberals, please note: I also feel that the outrageously high compensation packages (tens of millions) that high ranking corporate executives, sports figures, entertainers, etc. receive is immoral also. Likewise regarding greedy big corporations. These people aren't a bit more tired than a hardworking middleclass wage earner is at the end of the day....probably less so in many instances. Where is personal honor in our society these days? I am fed up with the inequities between the working peoples. Something is terribly wrong with American society as evidenced by the ever widening chasm between the very rich employed and the very poor employed, combined with the disappearing middleclass.

“True Americans better wake up fast”, says yogi frothing at the mouth.

“yogi would not know a True American if it bit him on the butt”, says Captain Nemo.

To prove the Captain, yogi bits his own butt

By: MamaG on 3/10/11 at 10:26

Oh my, Nemo, that is an incredible image to behold! Thanks for sharing!!!

By: Captain Nemo on 3/10/11 at 10:31

Sorry Carl, but Big Corporations and the GOP need the spot light now.

Oil companies are getting subsidies and I don’t here any Republican calling for the stop of using tax payer’s money there. Republicans always want to cut the budget and taxes to get us out of debt, but the reality is along with cutting the budget an tax increase is needed.

By: Captain Nemo on 3/10/11 at 10:32

Your most welcome MamaG.

By: Captain Nemo on 3/10/11 at 10:33

Still no answer from the mastermind in Gordonsville yet?

By: Captain Nemo on 3/10/11 at 10:35

MamaG-

There is another one that I think you would like, but I have to go for now, I will look it up later.

By: MamaG on 3/10/11 at 10:38

okay, Nemo, thanks a bunch! I'm gone for now too, but hope to be back later today! Take care, all...

Hey, Mama G. Long time, no post.

By: brrrrk on 3/10/11 at 11:16

You know, I can't help but think that there's an element of self loathing to all this anti-union sentiment.... especially among those that could really benefit from belonging to a union. After all, unless you're Bill Gates or Warren Buffet, we all know some one who gets more pay and has better benefits. And are these anti-unionists going after these people just because they're doing better? No. So I can't believe that it's all about the jealousy of seeing someone else prospering.

I think that what's going on here is that there is resentment towards people, people very much like themselves, who actually have the balls to stand up and say, "NO". The anti-unionists look at these people and say, "How dare they stand up and fight back!" But what is really happening is that the anti-unionists see what's going on in places Wisconsin and they are reminded as to just how impotent and gutless they are for not standing up for themselves.... and it just eats them up inside.

I have much better things to do than sit in front of this machine and read what dumb a..es like yourself post. If it ain't the way you want it, it ain't right. I can only occasionally look to see what the intelligent people and the fools have to post in conflict.

You can quote me again on the waking up factor, but then again, you won't know it happened until it slams you in the face. Then, your idiotic brain will wonder; What the hell has happened? Who caused this?

The answer? You, and those like you.

Community-carl-,

I believe you and I might have gotten the same education. Too bad these dingbats don't have an education on the facts of government.

P.S. I see where the children entering kindergarten in Smith County must show their birth certificates, immunization card, physical examination, Social Security card and proof of residency. Hey, maybe they should be running for president. They don't seem to need all that information.

By: Community-carl-... on 3/10/11 at 12:14

My final comment for today:

I think running the country (at all levels of government) is compable to running a private household. You cannot spend more than you are taking in for an indefinite period. It is time for politicians to start making hard decisions for the good of the country rather than for self-serving purposes. National, state, and local government expenses need to be matched to revenue received, and vice versa. Jobs outsourced overseas need to be brought back home to the U.S. A renewed effort must be made to encourage the creation of jobs, at all levels, as well as strong motivational factors for all citizens, who are able, to work and lead productive lives, thus contributing to the greater good of the total country and ALL its citizens.

"I have much better things to do than sit in front of this machine and read what dumb a..es like yourself post."

There you have it folks. Yogi cannot back up his statements with fact. If anyone is surprised I'd like to sell you some ocean front property in Arizona.

Now, here's a nice coloring book to keep you busy while the adults talk...

Regarding pensions, etc, bankrupting state and local governments, this is a good read, and would seem to indicate that the GOP (big shock) isn't being completely honest about the causes and/or solution.

There you go again, yogi. Trying to insult me with dumb, it is not an insult.

DUMBA was founded in a loft, during the summer of 1996 by a group of people which included filmmaker Scott Berry, Kelly Besser, Vincent Baker, and others.[1] It would come to call itself the "DUMBA Collective" by around 2000.

No yogi I expect you to sit in front of this machine and keep on posting you harebrained post and never show evidence for it.

By: yogiman on 3/10/11 at 1:28

What ocean did you have in mind, gdiafane?

By: yogiman on 3/10/11 at 1:45

Please accept my apology, dumba..,

You don't seem to be able to read any better than you can write. dumba.. is the polite spelling of dumbass, not DUMBA.

Do you mean you "want to wasting his time", or did you mean "'won't' be wasting his time"?

And can you please explain what "you harebrained post" is? Was you referring of yourself as jack rabbit or jackass?

By: treefrogdk on 3/10/11 at 2:06

yogi and nemo.... you guys should have a beer together.

By: house_of_pain on 3/10/11 at 2:14

yogi & Nemo walk into a bar...

yogi beer?

treefrogdk said

"yogi beer?"

LOL.... bet it's old, dusty, skunky, and in a white bottle.

By: Community-carl-... on 3/10/11 at 2:26

Mercy! I do believe Yogi and Nemo have got on each other's last nerve...........

What this world needs now is Love.

By: treefrogdk on 3/10/11 at 2:31

maybe a little g.dickel might warm them up a tad.

By: Community-carl-... on 3/10/11 at 2:41

Maybe they need to cool down rather than warm up any more!

Oh well, what can we expect when donkeys and elephants talk with each other.

BTW - (changing the sunject) Henry Kissinger once said that nobody will ever win the battle of the sexes. Do you know why? He said it was because there is too much fraternization with the enemy!

Peace to everybody.

By: yogiman on 3/10/11 at 2:42

Community-carl-,

You apparently missed when this started, but to simplify it, Captain Nemo began throwing stones at me and me being me, I started throwing rock back at him.

And treefrogdk,

Drinking together is like sex, I'm particular of the type person I participate with, and there has to be a warm, sincere feeling. Hell, make that hot feeling.

By: treefrogdk on 3/10/11 at 2:50

adios, all.......simplify

By: dargent7 on 3/10/11 at 2:51

No, yogi.
Golf is like sex.
When it's good, it's great. And when it's bad, it's still pretty good.

By: yogiman on 3/10/11 at 3:06

Naw, dargent7,

Golf is like cow pasture pool. It's a lot of acreage full of s..., and the guys playing it usually are, too.

You hit that little ball, walk down yonder and see if you can find it, then try to convince it to go in the hole.

Chuck Norris once ate three 72 oz. steaks in one hour. He spent the first 45 minutes having sex with his waitress.

Community Carl-

I try to civil to yogi and you can ask others about this, but yogi thinks (and I am saying thinks loosely) if I disagree with him or ask him to show evident to any of his outlandish statements he think I am insulting him. You will see just want kind of a troll he is.

By: Captain Nemo on 3/10/11 at 4:14

s/h/b I try to be civil.

By: yogiman on 3/10/11 at 4:42

Community-carl-,

I, like Captain Nemo, will try to explain this matter simply. I read many posts from him and his fellow posters as simple statements and presume they know what they are 'talking about'.

If I make a comment of any matter and don't refer a source of origin, I'm considered a nimwit who doesn't know what I'm saying. So be it. I simply consider the source and ignore it.

Now, I ask you to compare my wording of this statement and Captain Nemo's wording to his 4:10 statement. In essence, who knows what they are talking about?

P.S. you might check a few others, also.

By: Community-carl-... on 3/10/11 at 5:03

I'm beginning to suspect that Yogi and Nemo like each other, and respect each other's opinions a little more than they let on....... Hey, it's all good. And thank God that we are able to enjoy free speech.

And as for me, I try to be friends with everyone. Blessings to all.

Now, I really must go and work on my super-secret chili recipe.....my hungry wife is waiting for dinner. (We take turns cooking.)

Have a nice rest of the day.

Bruce Lee kicked Chuck Norris's ass and killed him in that Collesium scene.
I think it was Fists of Fury.

The Unions are nothing but an extended arm of the Democratic party. That party lost and lost BIG in the last election. You shouldnt be surprised when legislation that is un-friendly to unions pass when their party got smacked down so bad.
Any industry that was/is heavily unionized is gone or dying. Now they only have teachers, public service employees left.
