Tennessee needs to take care of kids

At some point, Tennesseans need to make the moral decision not to bring up the rear of the pack in this country when it comes to educating and caring for our children.

The national Kids Count student study puts Tennessee in the bottom 10 percent of states in terms of how we care for our children.

Tennessee now ranks 46th in the Kids Count survey, which takes into consideration a variety of factors including infant mortality, low birth weight babies and teenage pregnancies.
