From Gov. Phil Bredesen's eighth and final State of the State speech [Feb. 1, 2010]:
This is likely my final time to address you as Governor. We still have a lot of work to do, and it’s far too early for farewell remarks.
I do want to say, however, a most sincere thank you for the way you have treated me and worked with me and my administration these past years. I have never had a job I enjoyed as much or gave me as much satisfaction as serving as Governor. It has been a humbling experience.
To those of you who have helped me, my sincere thanks. For those of you who have not, all is forgiven now! I know how much so many of you care for our state and its people, and it has been an honor to work with you on their behalf. Thank you and Godspeed.

OMG, Blanket. I almost fell out of the chair.
kvetch is the correct spelling.

kvetch is the correct spelling
Thanks blanket, I learned a new word today.
Now tell D7 to read over his list of states with medical mary-wanna and move there. I'll help by donating $1000 to the moving van fee. (kidding). But I would donate $100 to it. Oh never mind. He'll still have a computer, won't he? And he'll still complain about where he goes.
Solution for wine & beer on Sunday: Go to the store on Saturday and STOCK UP; Then you can shut up your whinning about not have access to beer and wine on Sunday.
And at Kroger in HIckory Hollow, the Liquor/wine store is just 30 feet from Kroger's door. It's easy access for those who are disabled or unable to locate a liquor/wine store. (by disabled, I mean "mentally" like D7)

And being the last poster on the day is fun. When I am shutting down my computer I look to see the "next to the last post' If it's someone respectfully closing down, like DustyU I Might respond to him or not.
But then the next day, I get the last laugh cause some "curious george monkey" like D7 has gone to the last post of the day before to see what (or if) I said.

sid is so into S&M she thinks any ruff post about her comes from d7. dargent you need to watch your back with sid. lol
later this afternoon i anticipate to hear from sid's latest recording "garden full of golden showers" brought to you by TMI Productions.
Your comment Blanket. ;-)
just gave you an encore presentation, Nemo. i'll be here all week.......
We can't have alcohol sales in TN on Sunday...we must be worshipping God on Sunday's...and we know that those pious morons who want to dictate their morals upon us would never consume alcohol on God's day...
it must not have been a sunday when jesus turned the water into wine, huh? i wonder if that means we shouldn't eat fish on sunday either?
sid, it's a common sense issue with liquor sales.
If it's legal, it's legal, period. The day & time should not matter.
Having nonsense laws on the books doesn't do anyone any good.
house - exactly :)
but then this is TN :)
sid is so into S&M she thinks any ruff post about her comes from d7. dargent you need to watch your back with sid. lol
Not really Capt. He's just easy to rile up. Everyone else is level headed and so I just "thank them' for their "constructive comments".
You are correct House. I never said I "disagree" with liquor/beer sales even though I don't think it's a great idea.
The gal in LaVergne who left her 3 kids in the car this week in the below freezing weather would have done so, no matter WHERE she boozed up. Did you read that story. I think she didn't want to get caught driving drunk, but didn't mind putting her small, helpless, defenseless children in an ice box (the car).
Thank God for those 2 observant police officers.
Blanket - nowhere in the bible does it tell us not to drink alcohol on sunday - just says all things in moderation and beware of strong drink - but since the dawn of time jerks always want to make rules for everybody else :(

house - exactly :)
but then this is TN :)
But Dusty, many other states have the same type of laws. So why so hateful toward TN?
I mean, you do live here (no disrespect intended to you). The good news is: NO state income tax. And for those who really have a job, that's a good thing.
We've paid state income tax before and it's a chunk out of one's income.
this one's for the music lovers among us :)

no state income tax = you get what you pay for. look at our schools and social services.

Dusty, are you saying here that society needs not establish rules?
Today on my e-mail I got a letter from a Nigerian exploiting the plane crash they just had. The rules are in place for that type of dishonest behavior and the gov't both in US and Nigeria are cracking down on those scum bags who exploit vulnerable people.
I"d never answer something like that and you probably would not either, but there are weaker, vulnerable people who think it's real. They need protection from themselves if no one else.
Wow Sid, so you don't care of the validity of the rule, just as long as there is a rule.
You would've loved Germany in the 1930's.
sid - not hateful - just pointing out something wrong! If nobody speaks up ?
"They need protection from themselves if no one else."
that's an odd statement coming from a conservative.

There is something ironic about being the last poster at 5:51 and 5:54; it's sort of a dit, dit, dot, dot. Whats going on with your letters, Capt.? Call me and dictate what you wanna say and I'll type it in. That might lend credibility to my posts. After all, they are ridiculous when I write them.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
At 7:22 sid is talking about the last poster. Seem to me that she is the last poster.
*******************************************************************************************
sid it was me that made the post. In your rush to get d7 to give a verbal spanking you did not see that it was me that made the post. I stand by me remark about you being into S&M.
Spaghetti & Meatballs?
soup and matzoball
sid - rules - yes! Jesus gave us two to live by and when we do that we live honorably :)
but stupid rules are just that - stupid!
silly and mental
Here is the list of state laws on alcohol.

They need protection from themselves if no one else.
sid - I don't want a "big brother" protecting me from myself - even if I "needed" it!
Maybe it is sid that needs protecting from herself.
If this is true then we can see why sid is in to this.
Sid - be careful of "rules" - everything Hitler did was legal :(
sid say: Solution for wine & beer on Sunday: Go to the store on Saturday and STOCK UP; Then you can shut up your whinning about not have access to beer and wine on Sunday.
You can buy beer on Sunday after 12:00 and in Oakhill all day, like at the market on Thompson Ln.
the other stupid thing about blue laws is that you can't buy beer and wine in the same store. that's just silly.
blanket - yeah - we need some pink laws or maybe lavender? :)
Freedom of speech, only if it's Christian speech?

Alaska No 8 a.m.–4 a.m. 7days a week
No (although many grocery stores have separate areas that sell all forms of alcoholic beverages and many bars sell packaged liquor as well)
Blanket, you can attribute that to TN legislators being bought and paid for by the Liquor lobby...among others...
isn't that true, g......
Even Alabama permits wine in grocery stores. It's the silliest of the sillies.
I was in Walgreen's recently & noticed they were selling wine & beer now.
I'm using the term "wine" rather loosely...it was Boone's Farm.
sid it was me that made the post. In your rush to get d7 to give a verbal spanking you did not see that it was me that made the post. I stand by me remark about you being into S&M.
Captain, on what authority do you "diagnose" me? S&M is traditionally a dark form of entertainment/life style. I choose to believe that you mean "sunshine and merriment".
Sorry you think of me darkly. You're missing out on my sunshine and merriment. I offer you my pity and condolences.
house, i heard that walgreens finally decided to sell beer. what do you have against Boone's Farm anyway? lol!
I prefer T.J. Swann...

Sid - be careful of "rules" - everything Hitler did was legal :(
And the Germans loved him. Just like we "love" certain rules/leaders in this country.
Ames, aka, "Sid": Like I said, you tend to top yourself every day in the absolute nonsense and idioticy of what you put on the board.
Yesterday, you were completely caught off guard not knowing that a person could sue a Corporation. At 63, you've never heard of it? Pull your head out of "Judge Judy".
And Eliz Edwards was in a "30 year farce of a marriage".
You post at a 5th grade level, don't know WTF you're addressing or talking about, are wrong 90% of the time, and just continue to type without regard to reality.
Christ! Where's "Chief"? He was only a sociopath.

There is no authority involved, sid. It is common knowledge...
Just read a great quote....

Well Captain, "who's common knowledge" is it? If it's you and/or D7, then I will convey to you this:
My mother used to tell me this: When others call you bad names, just tell them this:
"It takes one to know one" so you Capt. must be looking into the same glass darkly as D7 is using.
So sorry for you. You must be awfully unhappy to dump your own self image on me.
I pity that. In D7 also.
"Respect my authori-tie!"
indeed, brrrk. good quote.
lol, Nemo! exactly!
