Pinmonkey celebrates release of debut CD

Pinmonkey has stirred up some dust over the last couple years in Nashville, and they earned a much deserved major label deal and the opportunity to release their debut CD Speak No Evil. Their music is good, writing solid and singing evocative. Only time will tell if they are commercially viable. Check Pinmonkey out at 9 p.m. at 12th and Porter, 114 12th Ave. S. with Carter Wood opening. For more information call 254-7236.

Southern band Injected with a good time

Comprised of several members of well-known Southeast region pop-rock outfits, Injected formed in 1998 and toured heavily earning a decent reputation and the notice of major labels. They signed to Island in 2000 and recorded their debut release Burn it Black. Touring to promote their CD, which hit record stores Tuesday, Injected comes to Nashville with Fu Manchu to play a 9 p.m. gig at the Exit/In, 2208 Elliston Place. For more information call 321-4400.
