Copeland tries new approach

Despite the rave reviews she received for her debut album, blues vocalist Shemeka Copeland decided some self-analysis was in order before returning to the studio for release number two.

The 22-year-old daughter of the late Texas shuffle blues great Johnny Copeland wanted to prevent any signs of stagnation or smugness from creeping into her work, and she also wanted to keep everything direct and honest.
