Astronomy weekend at Fall Creek Falls

Learn more about the stars and view the big, beautiful night sky this weekend at Fall Creek Falls State Resort Park. Topics to be discussed include how to get started in astronomy; the use of star charts, planispheres, binoculars and telescopes; and the constellations and the celestial coordinate system. Participants will look at the planets, moon, stars and other deep-space objects through telescopes, if conditions are favorable. All programs are free to the public, beginning on Friday night, Feb. 16, and continuing through Feb. 18. A special room rate of $39 per night will be available. Third Saturday Arts Matinee Downtown Feb. 17

The following venues will highlight visual and performing arts Feb. 17 as part of the Third Saturday Arts Matinee. The event is sponsored by the Nashville Downtown Partnership as a part of its Fifth Avenue of the Arts committee.
