With the average high school student spending nearly $90 a week (according to teen polls at www.teenresearch.com), schoolwork, sports and extracurricular activities are becoming secondary to working a part-time job. Students admit that the reasons they put their jobs at top priority is that they enjoy or need money.

A Web site poll shows that students need their money to buy food and clothes, entertainment, gas and to pay mobile phone bills. Although the students claim that they have to buy meals, they admit that more often than not their parents offer dinner or lunch, and they simply choose to eat out.
