The sound of multiple voices uniting in harmony is the foundation of music. There is nothing as vibrant, emotional, complex and natural in this world. And to be a part of that experience as a singer is one of the most rewarding and challenging in the world of musicianship.

For those unaware, Nashville has one of the most exciting choruses in the country, the Nashville Symphony Chorus, and it is holding auditions Aug. 26, 27 and Sept. 9, at the Woodmont Christian Church on Hillsboro Road. Auditions must be scheduled by appointment by calling Art Burkitt at 646-5099. Mr. Burkitt asks that no calls be made after 9 p.m.

The Symphony Chorus has been delighting audiences for more than 40 years. The chorus joined with the Nashville Symphony in 1974 and has since enjoyed season after season of rich cooperation and mixed performances.
