In what has become an annual tradition, the Nashville Zoo will offer its popular Zooperbowl Sunday, Feb. 6 — as a warm-up to the NFL's biggest game.

The promotion allows zoo supporters to get some exercise before the Super Bowl, which features the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Zooperbowl offers half-priced admission to the zoo ($7 for adults, $4.50 for children 2-12 and $6 for seniors 65 and older). As always, zoo members and children under 2 are admitted free.

Zoo officials said animals normally displayed during this time of year will be on exhibit as well as those in the indoor Unseen New World exhibit.

Many of the zoo’s animal collection is acclimated to Nashville’s climate except in extreme weather conditions, and some species (cougars, Bengal tigers, zebras, eland, red panda and Eurasian lynx) are often more active during cooler months.
