Watch every episode of 'Battlestar Galactica' when the 25-disc complete series is released this week.

Sadly, the recent Emmy nominations, despite an expansion in the amount of possible entries in most categories from five to seven, still didn’t result in Battlestar Galactica earning a nod.

Thus in four years the show had to be content with multiple Screen Actor’s Guild honors and Peabody and Humanitas awards. It joins The Wire among critically acclaimed dramas that never even earned a Best Drama Series bid, let alone any awards for its equally esteemed cast.

But for those who understood and savored the show’s quality and appeal, the ultimate prize arrives Tuesday. Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series (Universal) is a 25-disc behemoth with every episode available in chronological order covering the show’s four-year run.

Each comes uncut, with original music and presentation intact. This is available in both standard DVD and Blu-ray. It also includes the miniseries that launched the series, a webisode “The Resistance” and “Caprica.” The only thing missing is “The Plan,” which will air in November on Syfy.

There’s just one catch here: the price. It’s being listed at retail for $181.99 if you get the entire boxed set, though it’s available online for a bit cheaper, depending on your source.
