Agent: Young was watching football at friend's house

Vince Young’s agent said the quarterback was at a friend’s house watching Monday Night Football when Coach Jeff Fisher reached Young via a cellphone after his whereabouts had been unknown for approximately four hours that evening.

Major Adams, who flew into Nashville this morning and was en route to Young’s house when contacted by The City Paper, said he was shocked to receive a telephone call from Fisher indicating a need to know Young’s whereabouts and concern for his well-being.

“This is all being blown way out of proportion. He just went to watch both of the games last night at a friend’s house. I had talked to him,” Adams said. “He told me where he was and everything.”

Adams said he received a phone call from Fisher “during the Raiders game,” the second of two contests on Monday night. That game kicked off around 9:15 p.m. CDT.

Adams said he has spoken to Young this morning and the quarterback seemed dumbfounded over the issue becoming so large.

“He said he can’t believe he can’t just go and watch a game and people need to know where he is 24 hours a day,” Adams said.

The situation was touched off when a person at Young’s house in Williamson County called Titans coach Jeff Fisher concerned about the quarterback’s well-being and the fact that he had left abruptly around 7 p.m. without his cellphone. Fisher then telephoned Metro Police, who began to search for the quarterback.

“Given the totality of the circumstances, a bulletin was issued to all on-duty officers to be on the lookout for Young’s vehicle,” Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron said. “Police negotiators were also placed on stand-by not knowing what his emotional status was.”

Efforts were made to locate the quarterback throughout the evening, through various friends and acquaintances, until Fisher, who was in the downtown area with police around 11 p.m., finally made contact with Young on a friend’s cellphone.

According to Aaron, Fisher insisted that Young meet him at Baptist Sports Park so that he could see him. The two met there around 11:30 p.m.

“Young went in and met with Coach Fisher for a short period of time, and ultimately it was determined that the concern expressed earlier in the evening about his emotional well-being was unfounded,” Aaron said.

Young had a pistol in his glove compartment, but the weapon was unloaded and there was no ammunition in the vehicle.

Perhaps the Titans concern regarding Young was manifested when the quarterback did not have his MRI as scheduled on Monday.

“He did not go to the facility yesterday,” Adams said. “There’s no reason why he didn’t go. He just rescheduled it for today.”

Results of the MRI are still pending.

Young endured a rough 48 hours in that he injured his knee in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 17-10 victory over Jacksonville and moments before that appeared reluctant to re-enter the game after throwing his second interception of the game.

We are gonna find out soon that Vince faked his injury. He is a coward.....Does the NFL have a MUP list? (Mentally Unable To Perform)

dgallent, I am concerned with his mental toughness, but faking and coward? Geesh!

No,Vince Young is no coward. He is an extremely competive young man who has met his talent "Waterloo" He is trying to come to grips with being compared to Heath Shuler. Vince you may not be able to play quarterback at the NFL level but you are darn sure a much better quarterback than Heath Shuler ever was.

Will we ever know that, Frank? That's what everyone is so upset about, especially when they consider the QB talent that has been available since the Titans drafted Vince. Could it have been worse? Perhaps, but Michael Vick is in jail now. It's been said that VY is a head case, if Jeff Fisher is calling about, worried about VY's mental stability, then I'd say the Titans have a problem.
