Jermaine Beal made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 21 points as Vanderbilt snapped its four-game losing streak Saturday with an 82-75 victory at Auburn.

Beal matched his personal best with seven field goals in a contest, but he never had made more than three 3-pointers in a single game. He broke a 70-70 tie with fewer than three minutes to play and put Vanderbilt ahead to stay with consecutive 3-pointers 53 seconds apart.

Three other players scored in double figures for Vanderbilt, which shot 60.9 percent from the field and 58.8 percent on 3-pointrers – both season-highs. A.J. Ogilvy and Jeffery Taylor each had 14 points, and Brad Tinsley, who made three 3-pointers, had 13.

Taylor also had nine rebounds as the Commodores (13-8, 2-5) outrebounded the Tigers (13-8, 2-4) 35-22.

Beal’s first 3-pointer came with 14:12 to play and staked the Commodores to a 16-5 lead. He made two more in the first half, which ended with VU in front by five, 41-36.

Auburn’s Rasheem Barrett led all scorers with 29 points. He was 10-for-17 from the field (5-for-10 on 3-pointers) and made all four of his free throw attempts.
