Bills' four-fold mission

Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 1:00am

1. Run, Travis, run. The strength of the Titans defense is stopping the run, but as sluggish as the Bills' passing offense has been this season with Drew Bledsoe only having nine TD passes, running back Travis Henry is the key to Buffalo's offensive success, as he is averaging 4.2 yards per carry.

2. Bring the house. If Steve McNair's mobility is limited Sunday, the Bills would be wise to test him and see just how well he can function on the move. Bills head coach Gregg Williams, as Titans fans know, isn't afraid to bring the pressure from anywhere in order to chase a quarterback, and McNair will be no exception.

3. Win one for Gregg. Williams' status has been decidedly up in the air in Buffalo, as he has yet to get a contract extension and may be fired at season's end. A victory over Tennessee to get back to .500 and even keep alive slim playoff hopes would at least be a temporary salve.

4. Control special teams. The Bills special teams units have done well in both kickoff and punt coverage this season. With the Titans reeling from Sunday's bumblings against the Colts, the Bills will be looking to make some breaks of their own.
