Receiver Tyrone Calico and fullback Troy Fleming were among the Tennessee Titans final cuts Saturday.
The Titans released 20 players and had two more players to let go of by the 6 p.m. EDT deadline.
Calico, a former second-round pick from MTSU, lost out to a deeper group at wide receiver and was bothered by a hamstring injury that cost him time in training camp and preseason.
Fleming, a former standout at Battle Ground Academy and the University of Tennessee, had arthroscopic knee surgery and lost his spot to undrafted rookie Ahmard Hall.
Also released were linebacker Terna Nande, a fifth-round pick, and running back Quinton Ganther, a seventh-rounder.
Others let go Saturday included tight ends Ben Hall and Jamie Petrowski, offensive linemen Joel Rodriguez, Cody Douglas, Mike Erickson and Brad Rhoades; receiver Grant Mattos, defensive linemen Tim Thompson, Chris Herring, Sean Conover, Jeff Littlejohn and Copeland Bryan; quarterback Matt Mauck; defensive backs Keon Raymond and Antoine Harris and linebacker Marcus Randall.
Some of the players cut are possible practice squad additions.
Fisher also said the Titans would be mining the waiver wire to upgrade the roster.
As well, he said the door remained open for Calico to perhaps return if he is not claimed on waivers.
