CITY PAPER CAMP CONFIDENTIAL
Thursday, July 31, 2008
PLAY OF THE DAY: It came on the last play of practice in the two-minute drill. Quarterback Kerry Collins lofted a pass for Justin Gage in the back of the end zone, but Michael Griffin made a leaping interception to create the turnover on the last play of the drive.
TOPIC OF CONVERSATION: The release of Mike Williams was the big news around training camp on Thursday. Even more ironic was that Williams was scheduled to be one of the autograph signers on Thursday. His name was still on the board at the start of practice, though an intern later went and erased it.
WORTH NOTING: Jevon Kearse was back in practice and appeared to be moving pretty well after having minor issues with his left knee. Kearse had missed two practices in a row on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday.
KEEP AN EYE ON: Reynaldo Hill continues with the occasional flash in camp. He made a nice break-up of a pass intended for Bo Scaife in Thursday’s team drills.
That interception should give TITAN1 and his Second Avenue crew something to talk about this weekend. gdia, are you ready for some taxpayer funded football?
Go Titans!!! Beat Jacksonville on game one!
