CITY PAPER CAMP CONFIDENTIAL

Wednesday, July 30, 2008

PLAY OF THE DAY: Paul Williams made a nice twisting catch in the front corner of the end zone during one-on-ones. Williams, who is at the lower end of the depth chart trying to secure a roster spot, worked with the third unit in team drills along with Chris Davis, while Mike Williams and Lavelle Hawkins worked as the fourth group.

TOPIC OF CONVERSATION: A fierce storm blew through Baptist Sports Park shortly before practice, forcing the Titans to work inside during the special teams portion of their Wednesday practice. The storm managed to knock down both hospitality tents of 104.5 The Zone, but someone managed to hold on to one of the tents to keep it from blowing away completely.

WORTH NOTING: For the second consecutive day, defensive end Jevon Kearse did not practice. According to Titans coach Jeff Fisher, Kearse tweaked his left knee just a bit and was held out as a precaution. It is not known if he will practice Thursday.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Alge Crumpler looks as solid as ever, giving Vince Young a nice target and safety blanket. Crumper, who came over from the Atlanta Falcons with supposedly creaky knees, has not missed a day of OTAs or training camp.
