Vanderbilt baseball coach Tim Corbin has withdrawn his name from consideration for the same position at LSU, which he interviewed for last week.

Vanderbilt has called a 3:30 p.m. press conference Wednesday for Corbin to meet with the media and further discuss his decision.

"I am honored and flattered that they would consider me for that job, but I think I have one of the best jobs in the country right here at Vanderbilt," Corbin said in a release. "The administration has shown a tremendous amount of support for the program and I believe we are building something special here."

Corbin is 144-95 in four seasons at Vanderbilt and has led the Commodores to two NCAA Tournament appearances.

"Tim Corbin is a Vanderbilt Commodore and we couldn't be more pleased in saying that," said VU Vice Chancellor David Williams. "Tim is the face of our program and he is carving out a special place in our history with his tireless efforts and first-class results. We want Vanderbilt to be his coaching home for many years to come."
