Christ Presbyterian Academy cruised to the A/AA state golf championship on Wednesday, finishing with a team score of 609, easily beating second-place Anderson County, which had 628.
The Lions entered the day tied for the lead with DeKalb County, but surged ahead in the tournament Wednesday at Old Fort Park in Murfreesboro.
CPA was led by senior Taylor Denning, who shot a 72 on Wednesday to finish with 145 overall. Denning came in third individually. Lions sophomore Blake Burgett shot a 75 to end with a total 148, good for sixth place individually.
On the girls' side, Hume-Fogg junior Blake Childress shot a 76 to finish with a total 149 and a tie for second place.
