Colin Wilson and Jason Arnott celebrate the rookie's unassisted goal against Atlanta Tuesday night.

Colin Wilson converted a turnover into an unassisted goal with 1:22 to play in the first period and lifted the Nashville Predators to a 2-1 victory Tuesday at Atlanta.

It was the fourth goal of the season — the second game-winner — for the Predators’ top pick in the 2008 draft.

Wilson’s goal put the Predators up 2-0, but that margin was short-lived. Atlanta scored 29 seconds into the second period, when Nik Antropov redirected a pass from Johnny Oduya into the net.

Nashville’s Dan Ellis stopped the final 23 shots he faced (he made 30 saves overall) and notched his 49th career win in 90 career decisions.

Ellis’ last three victories all have come against Eastern Conference opponents. He defeated Pittsburgh 4-3 in a shootout on Feb. 14 and the New York Rangers 2-1 on Feb. 10. Wilson also had the game-winning goal against the Rangers.

The Predators took an early lead when Ryan Suter scored on the power play at 4:48 of the first period. Nashville now has converted with the man-advantage at least once in 10 of the last 11 games and 12 times overall during that stretch.

The team now heads west for three straight games in California, beginning Thursday at San Jose.
