The afternoon sportscast team of Blake Fulton and Joe Biddle have been pulled off the air of 106.7-FM The Fan, confirmed Mike Dickey, vice president and Nashville market manager for Cumulus Media Inc., the station owner.

Dickey said the company decided not to renew the contracts of the sportscasters, who hosted the show SportsNight on the Fan Monday through Friday from 3-7 p.m., after transitioning from another show on sister Cumulus Station WWTN, 99.7.

This marks the second change in The Fans local lineup in less than a week. Last Friday, the two hosts of The Fans SportsBrunch show, John Dwyer and Bryan Mullen, left their 10 a.m.-noon slot, citing busy schedules.

Without a team of local personalities, The Fan one of three sports stations in Nashville is airing network feeds from ESPN. We are looking to put together a live afternoon drive show by football season, Dickey said.

Dickey also confirmed he soon will be leaving his position as manager of Cumulus five stations in Nashville to join his three brothers Lew, David, and John in the Cumulus Atlanta-based headquarters.

Mike Dickey also confirmed he and his brothers have put in a bid to buy the Atlanta Braves baseball team from Time Warner, which put the team up for sale in December. Major League Baseball has given the Dickeys authority to enter negotiations for the purchase of the team, along with other potential buyers.
