Mike Fisher scored twice in the third period, the second time with 20.8 seconds remaining, as the Nashville Predators overcame a three-goal, third-period deficit and defeated the Minnesota Wild 5-4 on Tuesday in their return from the All-Star break.

With the victory, their 13th in their last 15 games, the Predators tied a franchise record for most wins in a month with 11. They went 11-2-0 in January. The only other time they won as many was March, 2010, when they went 11-5-0.

They also registered their sixth victory of the season when trailing after two periods. That tied three others (Boston, Colorado and Ottawa) for the league lead.

Goalie Pekka Rinne made 21 saves as he extended his franchise-record streak to 10 games.

Fisher tied it with three minutes to go, 21 seconds after Patric Hornqvist made it 4-3 with his team-leading 15th goal of the season. Fisher’s two gave him 14, and the second of those gave Nashville its only lead of the contest.

Matt Halischuk and Brandon Yip each added a goal and an assist.

Halischuk made it 3-1 when he scored his 12th goal of the season at 9:33 of the second period. Yip, playing just his third game for the Predators, again cut the deficit to two, 4-2, with his first goal for Nashville (his first of the season) at 9:22 of the third.

Nashville claimed Yip off waivers from Colorado on Jan. 19. He did not register a point in 10 appearances for the Avalanche or in his first two with Nashville. His assist on Halischuk’s goal was his first since Feb. 12, 2011, (against Nashville) and his goal was his first since April 8, 2011.

For Minnesota, Dany Heatley scored twice in the first period and had an assist on Kyle Brodziak’s goal 16 seconds into the third period, which made it 4-1. Matt Cullen and Nick Johnson each added a pair of assists.

I was flipping back and forth between Vandy and the Preds. Neither game was going well. Decided to go all Preds when the b. ball game got out of Vandy's reach. What a last 3 minutes. Don't like losing to the Wild. It's a Leipold thing. Love it when he leaves with a loss to the Preds. Way to go!!! Great win.

Great come back win and 2 points... A big "Well Done" to the Preds all the way from "down under" in New Zealand!
