Former Nashville Kats coach Pat Sperduto will join the Kansas City Chiefs organization in their scouting department, the team announced Friday.

Sperduto coached both incarnations of the Kats franchise (1999-2001 and 2005-07) in the Arena Football League. He also spent time in the Tennessee Titans organization assisting with coaching and scouting during the time the Kats were on hiatus after the original team was sold and moved to Georgia, and before the second franchise, owned by Titans owner Bud Adams, was assembled.

The Kats folded after the 2007 Arena League season and Sperduto was hired by Columbus 2008, but the entire AFL postponed its 2009 season to regroup.

The Chiefs have been overhauling their front offices since the hiring of Scott Pioli as general manager.
