Candace Parker overcame a first-half shoulder injury to score a game-high 26 points to lead the UT Lady Vols over Texas A&M 53-45 and into the Final Four on Tuesday.
Parker injured her shoulder and missed a portion of the first half and didn't come out for the start of the second half because she was getting treatment. But Parker returned and UT captured the win in the NCAA Tournament’s Oklahoma City Regional Final.
The top-seeded Lady Vols (34-2) will face off against LSU at the Final Four in Tampa, Fla., on Sunday night. Alexis Hornbuckle, hit a big three-pointer and a pair of free throws in the final minute to oust Texas A&M. Hornbuckle finished with 14 points for Tennessee, which reached the Final Four for 17th time in program history.
The second-seeded Aggies (29-7) were led by Takia Starks, who tallied 12 points before fouling out.
