Nashville’s Team 147 defeated four AAU state champions but failed to defend its own national title when they fell 52-38 in the finals of the YBOA National Tournament last weekend at Orlando.
The sixth-grade players lost a rematch of the fifth-grade title game 52-38 to Team Future, which included Shaquille O”Neal’s son.
Jeremiah Oatsvall had a team-high 18 points per game average and was named to the all-tournament team. Anthony Ochoa also earned a spot on the all-tournament team. Grayson Murphy was second to Oatsvall in scoring at nine points per game.
Team 147 was the Tennessee state champion and won six of seven at the national tournament. It finished the season with a 51-4 record.
