Titans center Kevin Mawae finished fifth and former Tennessee defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was tied for second among a players survey asking who the NFL’s dirtiest player was.
Pittsburgh Steelers receiver Hines Ward, who broke Cincinnati linebacker Keith Rivers’ jaw with a blindside hit last year, was the “winner” in the poll, receiving 11.6 percent of the votes in a poll conducted in September by Sports Illustrated.
Mawae, a 16-year veteran, received 4.6 percent of the vote, while Haynesworth, whose most notorious act came as a Titan in 2006.
That’s when Haynesworth, who tied with Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter with six percent of the vote, stomped on the helmet-less head of Dallas Cowboys center Andre Gurode. He was suspended five games for that act.
Mawae???? Are they sure they have the right player. I have never seen or heard of Mawae doing anything dirty on the field!!!!! Surprised by that one!!!!!!
