Music City Bowl on New Year's Eve again

The Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl announced today that this year’s annual post-season bowl game will be played on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at 2:30 p.m. CST at LP Field in Nashville.

The 2008 game will mark the third Bowl match-up between the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and Southeastern Conference (SEC) in Nashville. The 2:30 p.m. telecast on ESPN leads into the Chick-fil-A Bowl, which is the only other ACC versus SEC bowl match-up in the country. Last year in this same time slot on New Year’s Eve, the Bowl delivered the highest television rating in its ten year history (4.0 rating equating to more than five million viewers).

“Once again, our Bowl game will ring in the New Year, and we couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity to showcase Nashville to college football fans nationwide,” said Bowl President & CEO Scott Ramsey. “We look forward to another successful Bowl game highlighting two dynamic conferences. The tens of thousands of fans traveling to Music City, as well as our local supporters, will have a great time as they take in all the Bowl festivities.”

I think the Florida State versus Kentucky game is still playing in the fourth quarter.
