The Nashville Predators announced that WBUZ-FM 102.9 will be the flagship station for the team’s radio broadcasts beginning with this season.
The muti-year deal ensures that all Predators’ games will be broadcast on the same local station, unlike in recent years when conflicts with Vanderbilt athletics on WGFX-FM 104.5 occasionally caused the team to enlist alternate carriers.
The Predators open preseason play 7 p.m. Thursday against the Carolina Hurricanes. The regular season begins 7 p.m. Oct. 9 at home against the Anaheim Ducks.
“We are very excited to announce The Buzz as our new radio flagship partner,” Nashville Predators Executive Vice President and Chief Sales Officer Chris Parker said. “WBUZ is Nashville owned and operated, boasts a 100,000-watt broadcast signal and is a top-ranked station in Middle Tennessee with tremendous demographics. Add to this their promotional ability and the fact that our fans can preset 102.9 FM for every game, and this is a fantastic partnership that will benefit our fans.”
Who will host the pre- and post-game shows? Dagwood? Zigz?
Good ... more powerful signal & rock & roll ... 104.5 = all foosball all the time ... and Nick the Prick Hunter ... etc etc etc
Nick the prick Hunter? Shaking head.
Nice not to have to surf the signals on the radio, TRYING to figure out who will be broadcasting. Now to program my radio to the new predators station. Does it reach to Crossville?
Hope the contract is lucrative enough for revenue sharing between
management and the taxpayers!
