The Nashville Predators swapped young forwards with Milwaukee on Friday.

Cal O’Reilly was recalled and Mike Santorelli was reassigned to the Predators’ AHL affiliate. The two centers each tried to play on the wing with Nashville early in the season but were returned to their natural position, where the organization currently has its most depth.

O’Reilly, 23, started the season in Milwaukee but played six games for the Predators from Oct. 15-30. He has yet to register a point in the NHL this season.

Santorelli, 23, has two goals and three assists in 21 appearances but was a healthy scratch last Friday against St. Louis. He started the season in Nashville but was sent to the minor the last time O’Reilly was recalled as well.

Santorelli is a perfect 3-for-3 on shootout attempts, including the game-winner in the season-opener at Dallas. The rest of the Predators are a combined 3-for-10.

O’Reilly will be with the Predators for their game Friday at Chicago. So will forward Ryan Jones, who was recalled on Thursday.
