Staff reports

Cal O’Reilly, one of the last players cut from the NHL roster at the end of training camp, was recalled by the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

O’Reilly, a center, had four assists for Milwaukee on Wednesday and assumed the American Hockey League assists lead with seven in three games.

The Predators have two goals in their last three games and six overall in five contests.

To make room on the roster, forward Mike Santorelli was reassigned to Milwaukee. Santorelli had no points in five NHL games this season, despite the fact that most of his time was as a member of Nashville’s second line.

Also on Thursday, veteran forward J.P. Dumont was activated from Injured Reserve.

Dumont and O’Reilly will be in the lineup Thursday against Chicago (7 p.m., Sommet Center).

"The Predators have two goals in their last three games and six overall in five contests."

...except that the Predators have one goal in their last three games and seven overall in five contests.

Stupid facts, always getting in the way.
