It appears that former Tennessee Titans general manager Floyd Reese will be staying put in his advisory role in New England, rather than becoming the new GM of the Seattle Seahawks.
Reese had been one of the finalists to join new head coach Pete Carroll in Seattle, but the Seahawks, according to ESPN.com’s report, have instead hired Green Bay Packers director of operations John Schneider. (No, it’s not the John Schneider who played Bo Duke on the Dukes of Hazzard).
Reese is currently serving as a senior football advisor in the Patriots front office as Coach Bill Belichick’s right-hand man. Reese and Omar Khan, who is the business and football administration coordinator for the Pittsburgh Steelers had been the others in contention for the Seattle general manager’s job, according to reports.
Reese spent 21 years in the Titans/Oilers organization, including a 13-year stint as GM from 1994-2006.
