Tennessee State cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was taken with the 16th pick of the first round by the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cardinals have been looking to add to the cornerback position after deciding to move former first-round pick Antrel Rolle to safety.

Rodgers-Cromartie, the cousin of San Diego Chargers star cornerback Antonio Cromartie, was the second cornerback drafted on Saturday behind Troy's Leodis McKelvin, who went 11th overall to Buffalo.

Rodgers-Cromartie is the first TSU player to go in the first round since 1974 when Ed "Too Tall" Jones and Waymond Bryant.
