Tight end Bo Scaife has signed his one-year tender offer of $4.9 million, The City Paper has confirmed.

Scaife, 29, was the Titans franchise player last season and made $4.46 million under that tender last season.

Under the rules of the collective bargaining agreement, a player must be given 110 percent of his previous year’s salary.

The Titans tendered Scaife at the first-round level, but because he has signed the tender, it means Scaife won’t be able to field any offers as a restricted free agent from other teams.

That, however, does not prevent the Titans from either negotiating a long-term extension with Scaife to replace the tender, nor does it prevent them from trading him to another club that might want to work out a long-term deal.

Scaife has to sign the tender offer before any trade could be completed. No deal involving Scaife is currently in the making, however.
