Sixty-four of the nation’s top 16U, 18U & 18 Gold softball teams will arrive in the area Wednesday for the Nashville Sports Council’s Music City Hits Fastpitch Softball Tournament. The tournament goes through Sunday at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville.

Teams competing in the fourth annual tournament are guaranteed six games with five pool games and a single elimination tournament. The tournament games will last seven innings with the international tiebreaker going into effect should a game go to the eighth inning. Pool games will have a time limit of one hour and thirty minutes.

“We are thrilled to have some of the top fastpitch teams in the country competing in the tournament,” said Nashville Sports Council President & CEO Scott Ramsey. “With national interest in fastpitch softball rising, we are proud to again host this event in Middle Tennessee and in partnership with the Hendersonville Parks and Recreation Department.”

Lets hope all the hotel/motel tax they pay goes to the building that brought them here: The new M.C.C. The players and their families would not be here without the hardwork of all future employees of the new convention center. The tax being collected is just a way to funnel money back to the institution and community most responsible for getting them all here. Matching the beneficiaries to the users.
