Titans agree to deal with QB Ramsey

The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms Friday with unrestricted free agent QB Patrick Ramsey on a contract.

Ramsey becomes the Titans third quarterback behind both Kerry Collins and Vince Young. A former first-round pick of the Washington Redskins, he spent two season in Denver where Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger spent some time as his quarterbacks coach.

Ramsey, who also spent time with the New York Jets, has appeared in 37 career games with 24 starts and has completed 511 of 913 passes for 5,930 yards with 35 touchdowns and 30 interceptions during his seven-year career.

Ramsey, 6-3, 225, has appeared in three games over the last two seasons with Denver, completing 31 of 51 passes for 281 yards with a touchdown.

A native of Ruston, La., Ramsey played in 35 career games with 32 starts at Tulane University, completing 798 of 1,355 passes for 9,205 yards with 72 touchdowns and 51 interceptions. He graduated as the school’s career leader in completions, attempts, passing yards and touchdowns.
