The Tennessee Titans, in an attempt to shore up the depth at the cornerback position have agreed to terms with free agent cornerback DeMarcus Faggins on a two-year contract.
Faggins had spent the past seven years with the Houston Texans, and the Titans had recently hosted him for a visit.
Terms were not disclosed, but the Titans outbid the Miami Dolphins to land Faggins.
“It really came down between them and the Dolphins,” agent Robb Nelson said. “We negotiated back and forth with both teams, and he liked both places. But he really felt Tennessee was a better fit, and we agreed to terms.”
The Titans have been in need of help at the cornerback position since the defections of Eric King and Chris Carr to Detroit and Baltimore, respectively.
Free agents Reynaldo Hill and Tyrone Poole are not expected to return to the Titans.
