Titans need Calico, Troupe to step up

Tight end Erron Kinney and his 54 catches will watch from the sidelines Sunday against the Houston Texans, thanks to a knee injury that required arthroscopic surgery.

Rookie wide receivers Brandon Jones and Roydell Williams, who combined for 44 receptions, will be spectators as well, as both are done for the season with knee and wrist injuries, respectively.

So exactly who does that leave for Titans quarterback Steve McNair to fling the football to against the Houston Texans Sunday and for the final four weeks?

Drew Bennett, who has 43 catches despite missing three games with a wrist injury himself, should be a primary option for McNair on Sunday.

But the Titans would like it if a pair of former second-round draft picks who have shown flashes of playmaking abilities could come to the forefront over the final four games and establish themselves as core targets for 2006 and beyond.
