Wide receiver Brandon Jones could miss some time after suffering a groin injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s 28-20 victory over the Houston Texans.
Tennessee coach Jeff Fisher said Monday that Jones’ injury was the only significant one suffered by the Titans in the game.
“We may have to do some tests. It’s kind of a groin-related injury that we’ll have to examine. He may miss some time. We don’t know yet,” Fisher said.
Fisher stopped short of saying that newcomer Mike Williams, who played in his first game Sunday, would move into Jones’ spot in the wide receiver rotation, but said the Titans would continue getting Williams integrated into the offense this week.
Fisher also said that defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was less sore on Monday than he was after Sunday’s game. Fisher said Haynesworth, back after missing three games with a right hamstring injury, would be slowed in practice early this week, but should play Sunday against the San Diego Chargers.
He also said that defensive end Travis LaBoy (concussion) and guard Benji Olson (back) would be back on the practice field after missing Sunday’s game.
Also, safety Chris Hope, who also missed the game with a concussion and back problems, will be day-to-day.
LenDale White (finger) and Bo Scaife, whom Fisher said was banged up from the game, should be OK.
