The Nashville Predators’ last four first-round draft picks, including defenseman Ryan Ellis, will take part in the Nashville Predators’ conditioning camp next week.
Ellis will join 2008 first-rounders Colin Wilson, a forward, and Chet Pickard, a goalie, and defenseman Jonathan Blum, the 2007 first-round choice for a week of testing, on-ice training and team-building exercises.
On-ice sessions, which are open to the public, will be held 10-11 a.m. July 8 and 9, and 9:45-10:45 a.m. July 11 at Centennial Sportsplex.
The preliminary developmental camp roster includes 17 draft picks from 2005-08. As of Monday afternoon, Ellis is the only member of the 2009 draft class confirmed but most are likely to attend.
Four who played in Europe this past season will take part, including 2008 second-round pick Roman Josi, a highly regarded defenseman out of Sweden.
“I think all these kids (drafted last week) will be here,” general manager David Poile said. “… We’re looking forward to bringing all these kids to Nashville and giving them that pro experience.”
