UT beats American 72-57

No. 2 seed Tennessee passed its first test in the NCAA Tournament with a 72-57 win over No. 15 seed American as JuJuan Smith scored 19 points.

JuJuan Smith hit a number of key threes in the second half, when UT outscored the Eagles 43-35.Wayne Chism scored 16 for the Vols and Tyler Smith added 14.

Tennessee will now face the winner of South Alabama-Butler.

Tennessee is struggling mightily but the Kentucky Wildcats are 18 and 13. What would Adolph Rupp say about that.

Adolph Rupp would probably shave a few points of he could get away with it--again.Last week you 'Cats fans were talking smack about sticking to the future. One tournament loss and you Kittens are trying to resurrect Rupp.
