Vanderbilt, Lipscomb get NCAA Tournament bids

The Vanderbilt baseball squad will enter NCAA Tournament play as a No. 2 seed this week in the Tempe, Ariz., regional.

Lipscomb will make its first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance and will play in the Athens, Ga., regional.

The Commodores, 40-20, will take on No. 3 seed Olahoma on Friday. Host Arizona State, the top seed, plays No. 4 seed Stony Brook in Friday's other game.

Vanderbilt will make its fourth NCAA Tournament appearance in five years under Coach Tim Corbin.

Lipscomb, which won the Atlantic Sun Tournament championship Sunday, will take on Southeastern Conference regular-season champion Georgia on Friday.

Sixteen four-team regionals will begin Friday. Winners of each will advance to next week's Super Regional round.

Game times will be announced later.

Two-time defending national champion Oregon State did not make the NCAA Tournament field Monday after finishing 28-24 this season.

Arkansas, which did not qualify for last week's SEC Tournament, still made the field NCAA field Monday, giving the SEC nine tournament teams.
