Vanderbilt senior Shan Foster was named Southeastern Conference Player of the Year on Monday by the Associated Press in a voting of various media.

He was also named SEC Player of the Year last week by league coaches. Foster joins former Vanderbilt star Dan Langhi as the only Vanderbilt players to win the award from both the media and the coaches.

Foster and Langhi are the only two Vanderbilt players to win Player of the Year honors from the SEC media.

Foster, who currently leads the SEC in scoring and 3-point shooting percentage. became Vanderbilt's all-time leading scorer this season. He is also two points away of becoming only the 22nd player to reach the 2,000-point barrier in SEC history.
