Vanderbilt sophomore pitcher Josh Zeid is in the process of transferring to another school, although the destination has yet to be determined, Commodores coach Tim Corbin said.

Zeid, a 6-foot-4 right-hander, appeared in only five games and pitched 4 1/3 innings in 2007. He was regarded as one of the jewels of Vanderbilt's 2004 recruiting class that was ranked No. 1 in the nation. He was the Gatorade Connecticut Player of the Year in 2004 at Hamden Hall High in New Haven, Conn., and was ranked as the 27th-best pro prospect in the nation by Baseball America.

Corbin said Zeid might still return to Vanderbilt next year if a suitable school is not found. In addition, Corbin said reserve sophomore first baseman Kurt Lipton is considering a transfer to another school. Zeid and Lipton were not on VU's 25-man postseason roster.
